Abstract

Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan berbagai tipe masker (masker kain, masker bedah, masker N95/ekuivalen, dan masker elastomeric) terhadap respon kardiopulmoner, metabolik, dan indikator subjektif saat latihan . Metode: Subjek sehat berusia 17-30 tahun menjalani tes treadmill (kecepatan 5,6 km/jam) selama 30 menit dan dimonitor variabel fisiologisnya (tekanan darah, laju nadi, laju pernapasan, suhu tubuh, saturasi oksigen, end tidal CO2, glukosa darah, asam laktat, skala Borg, talk test, dan indikator subjektif). Setiap subjek akan diuji sebanyak 5 perlakuan yaitu tanpa menggunakan masker, masker kain 3 lapis, masker bedah 3-ply, masker N95/ equivalen, dan masker elastomerik. Hasil: Tidak terdapat adanya perbedaan pada parameter fisiologis yang terukur yang bermakna secara klinis diantara kelompok masker uji dan kontrol. Kesimpulan: Pengaruh penggunaan masker kain, masker bedah, masker N95, dan respirator elastomer terhadap respon kardiopulmoner saat latihan fisik selama 30 menit pada intensitas rendah-sedang dapat diabaikan dan umumnya dapat ditoleransi dengan baik oleh orang sehat.

English Abstract

Objective: To determine the effect of using various types of masks (cloth masks, surgical masks, N95/equivalent masks, and elastomeric masks) on cardiopulmonary, metabolik, and subjective sensations evaluated with treadmill test. Methods: Healthy subjects aged 17-30 years underwent a treadmill test (speed 5.6 km/hour) for 30 minutes while their physiological variables were monitored (blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, oxygen saturation, end tidal CO2, blood glucose, blood lactate, Borg scale, talk test, and subjective indicators). Each subject will be tested for 5 treatments, namely without using a mask, 3-ply cloth mask, 3-ply surgical mask, N95/equivalent mask, and elastomeric mask. Results: There were no difference in the measured physiological parameters that are clinically significant in tested masks compared to control Conclusion: The effect of cloth masks, surgical masks, N95 masks, and elastomeric respirators on the cardiopulmonary response during 30 minutes of lowmoderate intensity exercise is negligible and generally well tolerated by healthy people.
