Abstract

English Abstract

Based on the spatial planning vision of Malang City for the next 20 years, Malang City will be known as an education city. The population of Malang City had reach about 807,136 people, but still not included with the number of students who came from outside of the city, this condition caused transportation problems. Brawijaya University is one of the tertiary education facilities located in Malang, which experienced an increase of student enrollment to 10,000 in 2013. With the results of the increase number of students, it also caused an increase in activity and the number of private vehicles entering the main campus area. So that there were a delayed at the entrance and exit gates of Brawijaya University which reducing the capacity of the main road that limits the campus and caused the demand for parking is greater than the availability. Therefore, it is necessary to have an effort to minimize the pattern of internal movements on the campus. The analytical methods used in this study included the origin-destination model or origin destination matrix (MAT) that illustrated by the desire line map, analysis of road network characteristics obtained from the primary survey of road geometry, and analysis of road network loading. Of the 294.424 total movement, the biggest movement objectives were found in zone 23 (Rector of Universitas Brawijaya), namely 27.202 (9.24%). The highest loading of the road is on the Campus Main Ring Road at 173.855,73. So that it is obtained an effort to minimize the movement such as using of multiuse ID cards, construct a centralized parking building, and supporting the green campus program.
