Abstract
Perkembangan teknologi di seluruh dunia memiliki dampak pada berbagai sektor di Indonesia. Salah satu sektor yang terkena dampak dari perkembangan teknologi tersebut adalah sektor tenaga kerja. Kehadiran teknologi tersebut tidak hanya menjadi fasilitas bagi tenaga kerja Indonesia, tetapi teknologi tersebut mampu menciptakan lapangan kerja baru, yaitu pekerjaan pada sektor gig economy. Pekerjaan di sektor gig economy terkait erat dengan ekonomi digital dan juga memberikan kesempatan kepada para pekerja untuk bekerja secara fleksibel dan digital. Dari situ, diduga pertumbuhan gig economy di Indonesia akan menarik minat kaum milenial, sebagai generasi yang benar-benar memanfaatkan teknologi dalam segala aktivitasnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar minat generasi millennial Indonesia untuk bekerja di sektor gig economy dan apa yang mendasari ketertarikan generasi millennial terhadap fenomena Gig Economy di Indonesia. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan metode PLS-SEM dengan pengambilan data melalui kuesioner kepada 500 responden menggunakan software SmartPLS 3.2.9. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah generasi milenial memiliki ketertarikan untuk bekerja di sektor gig economy karena dipengaruhi oleh fleksibilitas kerja, pekerjaan mandiri, keterampilan dan lokasi geografis.
English Abstract
The development of technology around the world has an impact on various sectors in Indonesia. One of the sectors that affected by the growth of technology is the labor sector. The presence of technology is not only a facilities for Indonesian workers, but can also create a new jobs in the gig economy sector, which is a digital-based job. Jobs in the gig economy sector is closely linked to the digital economy and also provides the workers with the opportunity to work flexibility and digitally. From that, it is suspected that the growth of gig economy in Indonesia will attract millennial’s interest, as a generations that are the ones who actually use technology for all of their activities. The purpose of this research are to find out how much interest the Indonesian millennial generation has in working in the gig economy sector and what underlies the millennial generation's interest in the Gig Economy phenomenon in Indonesia. The analysis of this research is using the PLS-SEM method by taking data through a questionnaire with 500 respodents using the SmartPLS 3.2.9 software. The result of this study is that the millennial generation has an interest in working in the gig economy sector because it is influenced by work flexibility, independent work, skills and geographical location.
