Abstract

Tanaman kayu manis merupakan bahan herbal yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan aditif alami pakan ayam pedaging. Tujuan penelitian ini mengevaluasi pemanfaatan ekstrak daun kayu manis (EDKM) sebagai aditif pakan terhadap profil lipid dan persentase bobot organ dalam ayam pedaging. Penelitian ini terbagi menjadi dua tahap yaitu tahap 1 dan 2. Penelitian tahap 1 merupakan penelitian laboratorium yang terdiri dari uji senyawa fitokimia, uji total flavonoid dan uji aktivitas antioksidan metode DPPH. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0: zinc bacitrasin, P1: EDKM 0,25%, P2: EDKM 0,5%, P3: EDKM 0,75% dan P4: EDKM 1%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun kayu manis memiliki senyawa bioaktif berupa alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin, saponin dan steroid. Ekstrak daun kayu manis memiliki total flavonoid 8.438,65 μg/g dan aktivitas antioksidan IC50 131,28 μg/ml. Penelitian tahap 2 merupakan penelitian eksperimen pakan in vivo. Materi yang digunakan yaitu 144 ekor Day Old Chick ayam pedaging galur Lohmann yang dipelihara selama 35 hari. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yang terdiri dari 6 ekor ayam pada masing-masing unit percobaan. Perlakuan pada tahap 2 terdiri dari P0 = pemberian pakan basal tanpa penambahan apapun sebagai kontrol, P1= Pakan basal + antibiotik zinc bacitrasin 0,01%, P2= Pakan basal + EDKM 0,25%, P3= Pakan basal + EDKM 0,5%, P4= Pakan basal + EDKM 0,75% dan P5= Pakan basal + EDKM 1%. Analisis data hasil penelitian menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA) dan terdapat perbedaan nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak berganda Duncan (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan EDKM sebagai aditif pakan berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan kadar HDL serta penurunan kadar LDL dan kadar kolesterol daging (P<0,05). Penggunaan ekstrak daun kayu manis hingga level 1% tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap persentase bobot organ dalam, lemak abdominal, kadar kolesterol darah dan trigliserida (P>0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu penambahan EDKM 0,75% dalam pakan menunjukkan hasil terbaik dan dapat digunakan sebagai aditif pakan pengganti antibiotik berdasarkan profil lipid dan bobot organ dalam.

English Abstract

Cinnamon is an herbal ingredient that can be used as a natural additive for broiler feed. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of cinnamon leaf extract (EDKM) as a feed additive to the lipid profile and percentage of internal organ weight in broilers. This research was divided into two phases, namely phase 1 and 2. Research in phase 1 was a laboratory study consisting of a test for phytochemical compounds, test for total flavonoids and test for antioxidant activity of the DPPH method. The treatment consisted of P0: zinc bacitracin, P1: EDKM 0,25%, P2: EDKM 0,5%, P3: EDKM 0,75% and P4: EDKM 1%. The results showed that the cinnamon leaf extract had bioactive compounds in the form of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins and steroids. Cinnamon leaf extract had total flavonoids of 8,438.65 μg/g and antioxidant activity of IC50 131,28 μg/ml. Phase 2 research is an experimental in vivo feed research. The material used was 144 Day Old Chick broilers of the Lohmann lines which were reared for 35 days. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications consisting of 6 chickens in each experimental unit. The treatment consisted of : P0 treatment in the form of basal feed without any addition as a control, P1 = basal feed + 0,01% zinc bacitracin antibiotic, P2 = basal feed + EDKM 0,25%, P3 = basal feed + EDKM 0, 5%, P4 = basal feed + EDKM 0,75% and P5 = basal feed + EDKM 1%. Data analysis used analysis of variance (ANOVA) and there are significant differences followed by Duncan multiple distance test (DMRT). The results showed that the use of EDKM as a feed additive had a significant effect on increasing HDL levels and decreasing LDL levels and meat cholesterol levels (P <0.05). The use of cinnamon leaf extract up to a level of 1% had no significant effect on the percentage of internal organ weight, abdominal fat, blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels (P>0.05). The conclusion of this study was that the addition of 0,75% EDKM in the feed showed the best results and could be used as a feed additive to replace antibiotics based on the lipid profile and internal organ weight.
