Abstract

Cyberbullying merupakan salah satu perilaku menyimpang yang sering ditemukan dikalangan remaja. Salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi cyberbullying adalah kecerdasan emosional. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut, yaitu variabel kecerdasan emosional dengan kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying pada remaja kelas XI di SMAN 25 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan penekatan cross-sectional dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 205 siswa yang dihitung berdasarkan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat derajat kesalahan sebesar 5%. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan isntrumen penelitian berupa dua kuesioner, yaitu Kecerdasan Emosional yang berdasarkan lima aspek kecerdasan emosional Goleman dan kecenderungan cyberbullying menggunakan kuesioner The Scale of Cyber Bullying (SCB). Hasil analisis univariat menunjukan bahwa kecerdasan emosional remaja sebagian besar dalam kategori tinggi dan kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying dalam kategori rendah. Bedasarkan analisis bivariat diketahui hasil nilai p-value 0,000 < 0,05 dengan hasil nilai koefisien korelasi -0,263 yang mempunyai makna ada korelasi yang signifikan antara variabel kecerdasan emosional dengan kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying pada remaja. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini yaitu semakin tinggi kecerdasan emosional maka semakin rendah kecenderungan perilaku cyberbullying pada remaja.

English Abstract

Cyberbullying is an issue that is mostly found among adolescents. Emotional intelligence is one of the internal factors that affect cyberbullying behavior in adolescents. This research aimed to understand the relationship between emotional intelligence and the cyberbullying behavior tendency in 11th-grade adolescents at SMAN 25 Bandung. The research design applied a cross-sectional approach with 205 respondents that were calculated using the Slovin formula with a degree of error of 5%. This research used a purposive sampling technique, which meant that the research respondents were gained based on the inclusion criteria that the researcher had established. The instrument applied in this research was Aulia's Emotional Intelligence questionnaire based on five aspects of Goleman's emotional intelligence as well as cyberbullying tendencies using The Scale of Cyber Bullying questionnaire. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the emotional intelligence of adolescents was mostly in the high category and the cyberbullying behavior tendency in the low category. Based on the analysis, it was known that the p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 with a correlation coefficient of -0.263, which meant that there was a significant relationship between emotional intelligence variables and the cyberbullying behavior tendency in adolescents. The research conclusion was that the higher the emotional intelligence, the lower the cyberbullying behavior tendency in adolescents.
