Abstract
Ayam pedaging sebagai sumber gizi pangan dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi peningkatan kebutuhan protein hewani di Indonesia. Suplemen pakan dipilih sebagai alternatif yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dalam penggunaan pakan pada ayam dan menjaga kesehatan ternak. Suplemen pakan atau pakan pelengkap pada pakan yang bisa diberikan yaitu Protein Sel Tunggal (PST). Dari penelitian yang sudah dilaksanakan menunjukkan hasil positif pada pemberian PST berkorelasi terhadap pertumbuhan makhluk hidup, sehingga sangat berpotensi digunakan sebagai pakan ternak, tetapi sampai saat ini data penelitian PST pada ayam pedaging masih sedikit. Tritan NR termasuk kedalam Protein Sel Tunggal (PST). Tritan NR merupakan sebuah produk olahan hasil samping dari PT. Ajinomoto yang ditujukan sebagai imbuhan pakan ternak non ruminansia.

This research was aimed to analyze the effect of Tritan NR as an additive in feeding on shank color, water holding capacity, and cholesterol of broiler. The research used 240 unsexed DOC from PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia that randomly distributed into 5 treatments and 6 replications. The method employed in this research was in vivo experiment for 35 days set in a Completely Randomized Design. The feed applied in this research is KBR, corn, and rice polishing as a control feed. The treatments given were P0 (control, without additive), P1 (control, addition Tritan 0.15%), P2 (control, addition Tritan 0.30%) P3 (control, addition Tritan 0.45%) P1 (control, addition Tritan 0.60%). The variables were measured the shank color, water holding capacity, and cholesterol. The data were obtained then analyzed with the analysis of variance (ANOVA) if there was a difference to be continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that the vii treatment had insignificant effect (P>0.05) on shank color, cholesterol levels, and water holding capacity. In conclusion, that additional Tritan nr in feed cannot increased water holding capacity, the best treatment are without the addition of Tritan nr with the lowest cholesterol levels.
