Abstract

Penambangan batubara yang dilakukan PT.Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) merupakan penambangan terbuka (open pit). Penambangan batubara ini dapat menimbulkan dampak negatif jika tidak disertai reklamasi. Diantaranya hilangnya bentuk permukaan bumi (landscape), meninggalkan lubang-lubang besar di permukaan bumi. Selain itu, adalah erosi dan sedimentasi. Pada studi ini akan dihitung sedimentasi dan erosi, serta akan dipetakan besarnya laju erosi dan tingat bahaya erosi pada Pada Pit Pinang South PT.KPC Studi ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) dengan bantuan aplikasi ArcGIS 10.3. Dalam pengerjaan studi dimulai dengan mngumpulkan data-data yang dibutuhkan dalam perhitungan seperti data hidrologi, peta jenis tanah, peta topografi dan peta tata guna lahan. Selanjutnya akan dilakukan perhitungan erosi menggunakan persamaan Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Perhitungan sedimentasi menggunakan persamaan Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR) dan perhitungan aktual dengan mengumpulkan data-data hasil sampling selanjutnya dihitung menggunakan persamaan pendekatan USLE. Dari hasil perhitungan pada Pit Pinang South PT.KPC, didapatkan laju erosi 32,62 (ton/ha/tahun) daerah yang mengalami erosi sangat ringan seluas 27,26 ha (35,12%), erosi ringan seluas 27,89 ha (35,94%), erosi sedang seluas 20,60 ha (26,54%), erosi berat seluas 1,62 ha (2,08%), dan erosi sangat berat seluas 0,21 ha (0,27%). Berdasarkan perhitungan SDR, didapatkan hasil sebesar 1440,8 ton/tahun, sedangkan perkiraan besar perhitungan sedimen secara aktual didapatkan nilai sebesar 2223,6 ton/tahun. Maka didapati hasil SDR (931,3 ton/tahun) < hasil aktual (2223,6 ton/tahun) Hal tersebut dikarenakan hasil perhitungan SDR menggunakan nilai erosi yang diperoleh dari metode USLE yang merupakan pendugaan laju erosi sedangkan dalam perhitungan sedimentasi aktual berdasarkan dari perhitungan secara langsung dan hasil laboratorium PT.KPC.

English Abstract

Coal mining carried out by PT. Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC) is an open pit mining. Open pit mining might cause negative impact if there is no reclamation. As example, loss of shape of the earth’s surface, leaving large holes in the earth's surface. Another case is erosion and sedimentation. In this study, sedimentation and erosion will be calculated, and the magnitude of the erosion rate and the level of erosion hazard will be mapped at Pit Pinang South PT. KPC. This study was conducted by Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) with ArcGIS 10.3 Application. This study was started by collecting data needed in calculations such as hydrological data, soil type maps, topographic maps, and land use maps. Furthermore, erosion calculations will be carried out using the equation Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE). Sedimentation calculation conducted using equation Sediment Delivery Ratio (SDR)and the actual calculation by collecting the data from the sampling result is then calculated using the USLE approximation equation. From the results of calculations at Pit Pinang South PT.KPC, the erosion rate was 32.62 (tons/ha/year) the area that experienced very light erosion was 27.26 ha (35.12%), light erosion covering an area of 27.89 ha (35.94%), moderate erosion covering an area of 20.60 ha (26.54%), heavy erosion covering an area of 1.62 ha (2.08%), and very heavy erosion covering an area of 0.21 ha (0.27%). Based on SDR calculation, the result is 1440,8 tons/year, while the actual estimate for the sediment calculation is 2223.6 tons/year. Then, the result of SDR is (931.3 tons/year) < actual result (2223.6 tons/year). This is because the results of the SDR calculation use the erosion value obtained from the USLE method which is an estimate of the erosion rate while the actual sedimentation calculation is based on direct calculations and the results of the PT.KPC laboratory.
