Abstract

English Abstract

COVID-19 pandemic requires social distancing for the entire community in Indonesia. This causes experience changes in collage student habits. They tend to experience decreased in physical activity and increased in stress levels . The research aims to analyze the relationship between physical activity and stress levels of 2018 and 2019 PSIK FKUB students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research uses quantitative correlational analytic non-experimental with cross-sectional approach as a research design. Total research sample was 172 respondents which were taken from total sampling technique. A questionnaire was used as an instruments for collecting data. The results showed that 92 students (53.5%) had low levels of physical activity, 40 students (23.3%) had moderate levels of physical activity, and 40 students (23.3%) had high levels of physical activity. The study showed 46 students (26.7%) had normal stress levels, 44 students (25.6%) moderate stress levels, 42 students (24.4%) had mild stress levels, 27 students (15.7%) had severe stress levels. , and 13 students (7.6%) had very severe stress levels. Further, this research uses Spearman's Rank Correlation to analyze the relation between those two variables. The analysis shows that p-value 0.499 > 0.05 and the correlation coefficient value is 0.052. There was no significant correlations, also very weak and positive tendency between physical activity and stress levels. It is recommended that 2018 and 2019 PSIK FKUB students to be able to increase and maintain daily physical activity so that their health and immune system are strong to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and regulate stress levels.
