Abstract

Balai Among Tani merupakan Kantor Terpadu Pemerintah Kota Batu yang memiliki ruang publik berupa taman bermain yaitu Taman Block Office. Taman Block Office memiliki beragam fasilitas serta kegiatan yang dapat diakses dengan mudah oleh masyarakat. Adanya kemudahan akses serta beragam fasilitas tentunya menjadikan daya tarik dan menjadikan Taman Block Office ramai dengan pengunjung yang kemudian terjadi penurunan kualitas Taman Block Office sebagai ruang publik berupa banyaknya sampah yang berserakan. Ruang publik yang memiliki kualitas baik akan memberikan perasaan senang dan ingin mengunjunginya kembali yang kemudian akan menciptakan keterikatan emosi pada tempat tersebut. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui arahan serta kualitas Taman Block Office berdasarkan indikator PPS (Project for Public Space), keterikatan masyarakat (place attachment), dan hubungan antara kualitas taman dengan keterikatan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah analisis kualitas ruang publik, analisis place attachment, analisis korelasi rank spearman, dan IPA (Important Performance Analysis). Berdasarkan hasil analisis secara keseluruhan Taman Block Ofice memiliki kualitas ruang publik yang baik dikarenakan semua indikator berdasarkan PPS termasuk kedalam kategori kinerja yang baik. Keterikatan Masyarakat terhadap Taman Block Office sebanyak 53.57 % pengunjung merasa cenderung terikat dan 8.93 % pengunjung merasa sangat terikat. Berdasarkan hasil analisis korelasi, terdapat hubungan antara kualitas taman dengan keterikatan masyarakat di Taman Block Office dengan tingkat hubungan yang sedang sebesar 0.429. Nilai korelasi yang bersifat positif menunjukkan apabila semakin baik kualitas Taman Block Office maka akan memberikan peningkatan yang cukup besar pada keterikatan masyarakat.

English Abstract

Public space is a place used by the community as a place to gather and carry out activities with certain goals and interests as well as to meet each other, interact, relax or do shopping activities (Carr in Carmona, 2003). The availability of public space in a city is very necessary by reviewing the needs of the city community for public space as a gathering place that is humanist, recreational, attractive and supports socio-economic activities (John, 2012). The success of a public open space cannot be separated from its physical quality and its relationship with humans as users. A good quality of public space can be seen from public spaces that provide a sense of comfort, are easily accessible, have many activities, and are friendly to users (Garnha in Prihasto, 2003). Public spaces that have good quality will give a feeling of pleasure and at home which will then unconsciously make the use of space continue to repeat itself, so that it will be able to create emotional attachment to the place (Carr, 1992). Emotional feelings that bind people to a certain place and the development of relationships between people and that space produce feelings of place attachment (Altman, 1992). Balai Among Tani is an Integrated Office of the Batu City Government which has a public space in the form of a playground, namely the Block Office Park. Block Office Park has a variety of facilities and activities that can be easily accessed by the public. The existence of easy access and various facilities certainly makes the Block Office Park an attraction and makes the Block Office Park crowded with visitors which then results in a decline in the quality of Block Office Park as a public space in the form of a lot of scattered garbage. Public space that has good quality will give a feeling of pleasure and want to visit it again which will then create emotional attachment to the place. The purpose of this study was to determine the direction and quality of the Block Office Park based on the PPS (Project for Public Space) indicators, community attachment (place attachment), and the relationship between park quality and community engagement. The method used in this research is the analysis of the quality of public space, place attachment analysis, Spearman rank correlation analysis, and IPA (Important Performance Analysis). Based on the results of the overall analysis, Block Office Park has good public space quality because all indicators based on PPS are included in the good performance category. Community attachment to Block Office Park as much as 53.57% of visitors feel inclined to be bound and 8.93% of visitors feel very attached. Based on the results of correlation analysis, there is a relationship between park quality and community engagement in Block Office Park with a moderate level of 0.429. The positive correlation value indicates that the better the quality of the Block Office Park, the greater the increase in community engagement.
