Abstract

Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir merupakan salah satu pusat industri mebel di Kota Pasuruan. Industri mebel menghasilkan limbah berupa serbuk gergaji sebanyak 12-15% dari bahan baku kayu yang digunakan. Potensi limbah serbuk gergaji yang dihasilkan pada 203 unit mebel di Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir sangat melimpah, mampu menghasilkan setidaknya 20 kg limbah serbuk gergaji per hari. Namun, potensi yang melimpah tersebut belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Padahal, serbuk gergaji dapat diolah menjadi peredam bunyi, batako, sumber energi alternatif, arang serbuk, arang bongkah, arang aktif, soil conditioning, kompos, arang kompos, briket arang dan sebagainya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis peluang alternatif pengolahan limbah serbuk gergaji yang dapat dimanfaatkan kembali pada produksi mebel di Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir. Metode yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif proses produksi, analisis akar masalah dan analisis kelayakan ekonomi (Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) dan Payback Period (PBP)). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 6 tahapan proses produksi mebel di Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, didapatkan 3 alternatif pengolahan limbah serbuk gergaji yang dapat diterapkan di Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir yaitu peredam bunyi, batako dan biomassa listrik. Hasil perhitungan BCR ketiga alternatif tersebut menghasilkan nilai >1 yang menunjukkan bahwa ketiga alternatif tersebut layak dan menguntungkan bagi pelaku industri di Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir. Alternatif pengolahan limbah serbuk gergaji sebagai biomassa listrik didapatkan sebagai prioritas utama pengolahan limbah di Sentra Industri Mebel Kelurahan Bukir dengan nilai BCR 2,13 dengan periode pengembalian investasi selama 9 bulan.

English Abstract

Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir is one of the centers of the furniture industry in Pasuruan City. The furniture industry produces waste in the form of sawdust as much as 12-15% of the wood raw materials used. The potential for sawdust waste generated in 203 furniture units in the Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir, is very abundant, capable of producing at least 20 kg of sawdust per day. However, this abundant potential has not been utilized optimally. In fact, sawdust can be processed into sound, bricks, alternative energy sources, charcoal powder, lump charcoal, activated charcoal, soil conditioner, compost, compost charcoal, charcoal briquettes and so on. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze alternative opportunities for sawdust waste that can be reused in furniture production at the Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir. The method used is descriptive analysis of the production process, root cause analysis and economic feasibility analysis (Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) and Payback Period (PBP)). The results showed that there were 6 stages of the furniture production process in the Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir. Based on the analysis, there are 3 alternatives for sawdust waste treatment that can be applied at the Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir, namely noise, brick and electricity biomass. The results of the BCR calculation of the three alternatives yield a value of > 1 which indicates that the three alternatives are feasible and profitable for industrial players in the Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir. Alternative processing of sawdust waste as electric biomass was obtained as the main priority for waste treatment at the Furniture Industry Center of Kelurahan Bukir with a BCR value of 2.13 with an investment value of 9 months.
