Abstract

"Parwati, Tuntun. 2021. Efektivitas Niacinamide Sebagai Lightening Agent. Tugas Akhir, Program Studi Sarjana Farmasi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Brawijaya. Pembimbing : (1) apt. Oktavia Eka Puspita,S.Farm., M. Sc. (2) apt. Tamara Gusti Ebtavanny, S.Farm., M.Farm Hiperpigmentasi merupakan kondisi kelebihan pigmen pada kulit yang salah satunya disebabkan karena paparan sinar ultraviolet (UV) sehingga diperlukan kosmetik yang mengandung agen pencerah (lightening agent) untuk mengatasi hiperpigmentasi pada kulit. Dalam systematic literature review ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas sediaan krim yang mengandung niacinamide sebagai Lightening Agent serta penurunan hiperpigmentasi wajah dan perbaikan melasma yang dilihat dari adanya pengurangan jumlah pigmen, indeks melanin/ukuran eritema. Pencarian literatur yang komprehensif dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi Publish or Perish (PoP) pada beberapa database yaitu Google Scholar, Scopus, dan Crossref dengan alur penyeleksian artikel menggunakan protokol Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). Dari tujuh artikel yang telah diidentifikasi hasil menunjukkan bahwa partisipan yang diberi intervensi krim niacinamide kombinasi dapat mengurangi keparahan melasma diukur menggunakan Individual topography Angle (ITA), dan chromameter. Kesimpulan dalam Systematic Literature Review ini yaitu sediaan krim yang mengandung niacinamide efektif dalam menurunkan pengurangan jumlah pigmen, indeks melanin/ukuran eritema tergantung dengan konsentrasi niacinamide dan bahan kombinasi yang digunakan. English Abstract

Hyperpigmentation is a condition of excess pigment on the skin, one of which is caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light so that lightening agents are needed to overcome hyperpigmentation on the skin. This systematic review of literature aims to determine the effectiveness of cream preparations containing niacinamide as a Lightening Agent and to reduce facial hyperpigmentation and improve melasma as seen from the reduction in the amount of pigment, melanin index/erythema size. A comprehensive literature search was carried out using the Publish or Perish (PoP) application on several databases, namely Google Scholar, Scopus, and Crossref with the article selection flow using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) protocol. Of the seven articles that have been identified, the results show that participants who were given the combination niacinamide cream intervention could reduce the severity of melasma as measured using the Individual Topography Angle (ITA), and chromameter. The conclusion in this Systematic Literature Review is that niacinamide cream preparations are effective in reducing the amount of pigment, the melanin index/erythema size depends on the concentration of niacinamide and the combination of ingredients used.
