Ikhda Ulya, S.Kep., M.Kep. (3) Dr. Titut Harnanik, dr. M. Kes. Komplikasi diabetes melitus yang paling banyak terjadi adalah neuropati perifer. Neuropati perifer merupakan kerusakan yang terjadi pada saraf otonom, sensorik, dan motorik. Salah satu terapi modern untuk diabetes melitus adalah terapi oksigen hiperbarik. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat keparahan neuropati perifer sebelum dan sesudah terapi oksigen hiperbarik pada penderita diabetes melitus di Lakesla Drs. Med. R. Rijadi Sastropanoelar, Phys Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis komparatif. Terapi diberikan sebanyak 10 kali; 2,4 ATA; 90 menit. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar pemeriksaan neuropati perifer yang terdiri dari pemeriksaan saraf otonom, sensorik, motorik yang diadopsi dari MNSI (Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument) dan MDNS (Michigan Diabetic Neuropathy Score). Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Dari 6 responden, 5 diantaranya memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Uji analisa menggunakan Paired T-Test untuk data berdistribusi normal dan Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Sum Test untuk data berdistribusi tidak normal. Hasil uji analisa didapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada neuropati perifer sacara keseluruhan (p 0,0028). Hasil berdasarkan masing-masing sub pemeriksaan didapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada saraf otonom (p 0,0326); perbedaan yang signifikan pada saraf sensorik (p 0,0312); dan perbedaan yang tidak signifikan pada saraf motorik (p 0,1875). Dengan demikian terapi oksigen hiperbarik dapat dijadikan sebagai terapi alternatif untuk meringankan gejala neuropati perifer. English Abstract
The most common complication of diabetes mellitus is peripheral neuropathy. Peripheral neuropathy is damage to the autonomic, sensory, and motor nerves. One of the modern for diabetes is hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This study was conducted to determine the differences in severity of peripheral neuropathy before and after hyperbaric oxygen therapy in diabetes mellitus patients at Lakesla Drs. Med. R. Rijadi Sastropanoelar, Phys Surabaya. This study used a comparative analysis design. Therapy was give 10 times; 2,4 ATA; 90 minutes. The instrument used is a peripheral neuropathy examination sheet consisting of autonomic, sensory, motor nerve examinations adopted from the MNSI (Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument) and MDNS (Michigan Diabetic Neuropathy Score). The sampling technique in this research is purposive sampling. Of the 6 respondents, 5 of them met the inclusion criteria. Analysis test used Paired T-Test for data with normal distribution and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Sum Test for data with abnormal distribution. The results of the analysis test showed a significant difference in overall peripheral neuropathy (p 0.0028). The results based on each sub-examination showed significant differences in autonomic nerves (p 0.0326); significant difference in sensory nerves (p 0.0312); and a non-significant difference in motor nerves (p 0.1875). Thus hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be used as an alternative therapy to relieve symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. Keywords: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Peripheral Neuropathy, Diabetes Mellitus
