Abstract
Biji salak (Salacca zalacca) merupakan limbah pengolahan salak yang belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Biji salak disangrai dan dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan campuran body scrub. Biji salak roasting mengandung polifenol berupa tanin yang mampu mengubah bentuk pori kulit dan mengencangkan kulit. Biji salak roasting juga memiliki bentuk kasar dan dapat bersifat adsorben, sehingga dimanfaatkan sebagai scrub. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendapatkan formula body scrub terbaik dengan penambahan biji salak roasting dan mendapatkan hasil analisa formula body scrub terbaik. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan satu faktor, yaitu konsentrasi biji salak roasting (5%, 10%, 15%) dengan 6 pengulangan. Kontrol penelitian ini adalah “Mustika Ratu Coffee Body Scrub”. Hasil pengujian homogenitas, ph, daya sebar, daya lekat, dan viskositas body scrub dianalisis sidik ragam (ANOVA). Hasil yang beda nyata di uji dengan BNT 5%. Penentuan formula terbaik dengan metode de Garmo (2003). Formula terbaik dianalisis organoleptik, antioksidan, dan uji iritasi. Hasil penelitian body scrub formula terbaik dengan biji salak roasting 5% yang homogen, pH 4,785, daya sebar 6,5 cm, daya lekat 0,47 detik, dan viskositas 28850 cPs. Formula terbaik dibandingkan produk komersil memiliki hasil organoleptik, responden menyukai kedua produk. Aktivitas antioksidan formula terbaik sebesar 144,78 ppm (intensitas antioksidan sedang) lebih tinggi dibandingkan produk komersil. Uji iritasi mengakibatkan eritama ringan pada kulit kelinci dan memiliki indeks iritasi sebesar 1,67 (mengiritasi ringan). Iritasi dapat diakibatkan bahan penyusun seperti propilenglikol, paraben, vitamin C, dan biji salak roasting. Iritasi dapat disebabkan akibat pengaplikasian yang terlalu lama, efektifnya body scrub hanya diaplikasikan selama 15-20 menit pada kulit normal.
English Abstract
Zalacca seeds (Salacca zalacca) are salak processing waste that have not been used optimally. Zalacca seeds are roasted and used as a body scrub mixture. Roasting salak seeds contain polyphenols in the form of tannins which are able to change the pore shape of the skin and tighten the skin. Zalacca roasting seeds also have a rough shape and can be adsorbent, so they are used as scrubs. The purpose of this research is to get the best body scrub formula with the addition of roasting salak seeds and get the best body scrub formula analysis results. The study used a Randomized Block Design with one factor, namely the concentration of snake fruit seeds (5%, 10%, 15%) with 6 repetitions. The control of this research is "Mustika Ratu Coffee Body Scrub". Homogeneity, pH, spreadability, adhesion, and body scrub viscosity were analyzed for variance (ANOVA). Significantly different results were tested with BNT 5%. Determination of the best formula with the method de Garmo (2003). The best formula is analyzed organoleptic, antioxidant, and irritation test. The results of the best body scrub formula with homogeneous 5% snakefruit seeds, pH 4.785, spreadability of 6.5 cm, adhesion of 0.47 seconds, and viscosity of 28850 cPs. The best formula compared to commercial products has organoleptic results, respondents like both products. The best antioxidant activity of the formula is 144.78 ppm (moderate antioxidant intensity) higher than commercial products. The irritation test results in mild eritama on rabbit skin and has an irritation index of 1.67 (mild irritation). Irritation can be caused by the constituent ingredients such as propyleneglycol, parabens, vitamin C, and roasting salak seeds. Irritation can be caused by application that is too long, the effective body scrub is only applied for 15-20 minutes on normal skin
