Yusnia, Diastuti Annisaa Rachma (2020) Analisis Kandungan Mikroplastik Pada Air di Waduk Dempok Kepanjen Malang. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Plastic is a material that is widely used by humans. Plastic waste consists of various sizes such as microscopic to macroscopic. It takes hundreds of years to degrade plastics into microplastics and nanoplastics. Microplastics are derived from small pieces of large plastic, which are <5 mm in size. This microplastic is a problem in water areas because its size is very small, can be consumed by aquatic biota and enter the food chain. Based on the source, mikroplastik can be categorized into primary and secondary sources. Dempok Reservoir is located in Kepanjen District, Malang Regency. Dempok Reservoir is a tourist location that is quite crowded and serves to collect water from the Brantas River and Metro River before being channeled to the Karangkates Reservoir. The purpose of this research is to determine the presence, types, and abundance of microplastics found in water in the Dempok Reservoir and to know distribution of microplastic pollutants to the presence of microplastics found in water in the Dempok Reservoir. Eight samples were taken at eight different sample points using the grab sampling method. The sample was filtered with 500, 250, and 180 μm nylon filters. Microplastics in samples were analyzed with an Olympus SZX16 microscope. The results of the study prove the existence of microplastics in water in the Dempok Reservoir. The microplastics found were 80% fiber types, 14% fragment types, and 6% film types, where the most dominant type was fiber. The microplastic colors found were 69% white, 15% black, 8% blue, 4% red, 3% green, and 1% orange. The dominant microplastic color is white. The highest abundance of microplastics is in the sample point 7 in the amount of 426.667 particles / m 3.
