Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai transformasi keamanan yang terjadi dalam kompleks keamanan kawasan Teluk Persia dengan melihat krisis diplomatik Qatar sebagai studi kasus. Krisis diplomatik Qatar ialah sebuah kejadian di mana empat negara; Arab Saudi, Bahrain, Mesir, dan Uni Emirat Arab memutus hubungan diplomatiknya dengan Qatar. Keempat negara memberikan sebanyak 13 tuntutan terhadap Qatar, yang pada akhirnya tidak dipenuhi oleh Qatar. Konflik tersebut kian berlanjut tanpa adanya penyelesaian. Namun, krisis tersebut tidak semerta-merta terjadi tanpa adanya eskalasi konflik. Malah, eskalasi konflik tersebut sudah terjadi sejak dimulainya Arab Spring pada akhir tahun 2010. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perubahan keamanan yang terjadi dalam kawasan Teluk Persia dengan menggunakan keempat variabel dalam teori regional security complex milik Barry Buzan dan Ole Wæver, yang nantinya akan dilanjutkan ke dalam tabel konfigurasi untuk dapat mengetahui jenis perubahan apa yang terjadi pada kawasan Teluk Persia.

English Abstract

This study aims to address regarding the transformation of security that took place in the security complex of the Persian Gulf region by looking at the Qatar diplomatic crisis as a case study. Qatar diplomatic crisis is an event in which four states; Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates cut off their diplomatic relations with Qatar. The four states gave 13 demands against Qatar, which ultimately were not met by the Qatari government. The conflict continues without resolution. However, the crisis did not necessarily occur without prior escalation of conflict. In fact, the escalation of the conflict has occurred since the beginning of the Arab Spring at the end of 2010. The purpose of this study is to find out the security transformations that occurred in the Persian Gulf region by using the four variables given by Barry Buzan and Ole Wæver's regional security complex theory, which will be continued to in the configuration table to be able to find out what types of transformations have occurred in the Persian Gulf region.
