Abstract
Saat ini masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia masih cukup tinggi. Tingginya masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Indonesia salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang dapat diukur melalui perilaku menyikat gigi. Berdasarkan hasil RISKESDAS 2018, hanya 2,8 persen penduduk yang memiliki kebiasaan menyikat gigi dengan benar. Perilaku sendiri cenderung terbentuk saat seseorang masih di usia 6-12 tahun. Pada usia ini, anak mulai mengembangkan kebiasaan yang cenderung menetap sampai dewasa termasuk perilaku menyikat gigi. Social Cognitive Theory merupakan salah satu teori perubahan perilaku yang menjelaskan bahwa perubahan perilaku dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan, personal, perilaku dimana ketiga faktor ini saling memengaruhi satu sama lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan perilaku menyikat gigi siswa kelas 2 sebelum dan sesudah sikat gigi bersama di sekolah selama 21 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode pra-pasca perlakuan dimana terdapat 2 kelas yang mendapatkan perlakuan dan 2 kelas lainnya sebagai kontrol. Sikat gigi bersama dilakukan setiap pagi hari sebelum kegiatan belajar mengajar dimulai. Sebelum dan sesudah sikat gigi bersama, semua kelas diberikan kuesioner untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perubahan pada perilaku yang dilihat melalui pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa kelas yang mendapatkan perlakuan mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan yang signifikan dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah sikat gigi bersama efektif dalam mengubah perilaku menyikat gigi pada siswa kelas 2 SD.
English Abstract
Nowadays, dental health problems in Indonesia are still quite high. The high problems of dental and oral health in Indonesia, one of which is influenced by low public awareness of the importance of maintaining the health of teeth and mouth that can be measured by toothbrushing behavior. Based on the results of RISKESDAS 2018, only 2.8 percent of the population has a proper toothbrushing behavior. Behavior tends to form at age 6-12 years. At this age, children begin to develop habits that tend to settle until adulthood, including toothbrushing behavior. Social Cognitive theory is a theory of behavioral change that explains that behavioral changes are influenced by the environment, personal, behaviour where these three factors influence each other. This study aims to identify changes in the dental behavior of Second Grades students before and after the joint toothbrushing at school for 21 days. This research is done by pre-post treatment method where there are 2 classes that get treatment and 2 other classes as control. A joint toothbrush is performed every morning before the teaching and learning activities begin. Before and after the joint toothbrush, all classes are given questionnaires to see if there are any changes in behaviour seen through knowledge, attitudes, and practice. The results of this study were concluded that the class that received the intervention experienced a significant increase in knowledge, attitude, and pratice compared to the control class. The conclusion of this research is a joint toothbrushing is effective in changing the behavior of toothbrushing in Second Grade students.
