Abstract
Kesehatan gigi dan mulut hingga saat ini masih menjadi masalah di Indonesia, terutama pada anak usia dini. Anak usia dini perlu perhatian khusus karena sedang mengalami proses tumbuh kembang yang akan berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan kesehatan gigi dan mulut saat dewasa nanti. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada perbedaan perilaku terhadap kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak usia 6-8 tahun di daerah urban dan rural di Malang Raya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 80 yang terbagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu anak usia 6-8 tahun di daerah urban dan rural. Perbedaan perilaku kedua kelompok dianalisis menggunakan uji mann-whitney. Hasil penelitian seluruh anak usia 6-8 tahun pada kedua kelompok memiliki perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang baik, dengan skor rata-rata pengetahuan pada anak urban sebesar 49.71 dan sikap sebesar 44.40. Sedangkan pengetahuan pada anak rural menunjukkan sebesar 32.29 dan sikap sebesar 36.60. Hasil uji statistik perbedaan perilaku terhadap kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak usia 6-8 tahun pada kedua kelompok menunjukkan nilai p=0,001. Dapat disimpulkan jika terdapat perbedaan perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut anak usia 6-8 tahun di daerah urban dan rural di Malang Raya.
English Abstract
Oral health is a problem in Indonesia nowadays, especially in early childhood. Oral and dental health in early childhood needs special attention because they are in the process of growth and development that will affect the development of dental and oral health later. The purpose of this study is to find out the differences of 6-8 years old children’s behaviour towards oral and dental health in the urban and rural areas in Malang. This research used observational analytic with the cross-sectional approach. The determination of the sample was done by purposive sampling technique. There where 80 samples divided into two groups; the students aged 6-8 years in urban and rural area. The differences in behaviour between the two groups were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test. The results of the study of both groups have good oral dan dental health behaviours with an average score of knowledge 49.71 and the attitudesby 44.40 for urban area. While, in rural area the result pointed out 32.29 of knowledge and 36.60 of attitude. Statistical test results of the differences in 6-8 years old children’s behaviour towards oral and dental health in both groups showed a value of p = 0.001. It can be concluded that there are differences in oral and dental health of children aged 6-8 years in urban and rural areas in Malang.
