Abstract
Kandidiasis oral merupakan salah satu infeksi fungal yang sering ditemukan di mukosa oral disebabkan oleh jamur Candida albicans. Hingga saat ini, perawatan kandidiasis oral dilakukan dengan pemberian obat antifungi baik dalam bentuk topikal maupun sistemik. Daun tempuyung merupakan salah satu tanaman obat tradisional yang mudah ditemukan serta tumbuh liar di sekitar kita terutama di tempat yang terlindungi sinar matahari dan dekat dengan aliran air. Adapun, senyawa aktif yang terkandung dalam daun tempuyung yaitu flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, dan tanin. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ekstrak etanol daun tempuyung (Shoncus arvensis L.) memiliki efek antifungi terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans secara in vitro. Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan yaitu uji dilusi tabung dengan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun tempuyung yang digunakan yaitu 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, dan 100%. Kemudian dilakukan penghitungan koloni dengan menggunakan colony counter. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, Kadar Hambat Minimum (KHM) berada pada konsentrasi 80%, sedangkan Kadar Bunuh Minimum (KBM) ekstrak etanol daun tempuyung terhadap pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans berada pada konsentrasi 100%. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji One Way ANOVA dan didapatkan hasil yang signifikan. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun tempuyung (Sonchus Arvensis L.) berpengaruh terhadap terhadap jumlah koloni jamur Candida albicans.
English Abstract
Oral candidiasis is one of the fungal infections that is often found in the oral mucosa caused by Candida albicans. Until now, the treatment of oral candidiasis is done by administering antifungal drugs in both topical and systemic forms. Tempuyung leaves are one of the traditional medicinal plants that are easy to find and grow wild around us, especially in places that are protected by sunlight and close to the flow of water. Meanwhile, the active compounds contained in tempuyung leaves are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the ethanol extract of tempuyung leaves (Sonchus arvensis L.) has an antifungal effect on the growth of Candida albicans in vitro. In this study, the method used was tube dilution test with the concentration of ethanol extract of tempuyung leaves used, namely 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. Then the colony is calculated using a Colony counter. Based on the results of the observation, the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) was at a concentration of 80%, while the Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) of the ethanol extract of tempuyung leaves on the growth of Candida albicans was at a concentration of 100%. Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA test and obtained significant results. From this study it can be concluded that the administration of tempuyung leaves extract (Sonchus Arvensis L.) has an effect on the number of fungi colonies of Candida albicans.
