Abstract
Penelitian ini berawal dari ketertarikan peneliti mengenai fenomena pemilih pemula terkait politik, baik partisipasi maupun perilaku pemilih. Isu mengenai pemilu menjadi hal penting untuk mengetahui bagaimana kondisi keikutsertaan pemilih pemula dalam memilih. Kecamatan Lowokwaru Kota Malang menjadi lokasi penelitian karena jumlah Pemilih Pemulanya memiliki jumlah yang dominan dibandingkan dengan kecamatan lainnya. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini mencoba menggambarkan perilaku pemilih pemula dalam Pemilihan Umum Presiden dan wakl Presiden di Kecamatan Lowokwaru Kota Malang tahun 2019 dan mengidentifikasi aspek-aspek yang berdampak bagi perilaku pemilih pemula tersebut. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah (Teori Partisipasi Politik dan Perilaku Pemilih). dimana teori ini relevan untuk menjadi dasar analisis karena didalam teori ini menyebutkan beberapa pendekatan yang menjadi dasar untuk mengetahui kondisi perilaku pemilih pemula, antara lain pendekatan sosiologis, psikologis, dan rational chice. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara wawancara secara mendalam dengan informan sehingga diproleh informasi secara mendalam terkait fokus penelitian. Sehingga peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan pengambilan sampel purposive sampling dan snowball. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi sumber data primer (wawancara dan observasi) dan data sekunder (dokumentasi). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga pendekatan tersebut (sosiologis, psikologis, rational choice) menunjukkan bahwa aspek yang paling dominan sebagai pendorong Pemilih Pemula di Kecamatan Lowokwaru Kota Malang dalam menggunakan hak pilihnya pada pemilihan presiden 2019 adalah pendekatan rationa choice dimana mayoritas pemilih pemula yang dijadikan sebagai informan dalam penelitian ini melihat sosok dari kandidat capres sebagai pertimbangan. Prestasi, kualitas, visi dan misi juga dijadikan pertimbangan bagi informan, namun pertimbangan lebih dititik beratkan pada rekam jejak dari sosok kandidat tersebut. Mengingat pemilih pemula berasal dari kelompok yang masih cenderung mudah terpengaruh oleh lingkungan, hal ini tidak terlihat dari hasil penelitian dimana mayoritas pemilih pemula sudah memiliki akses informasi terhadap proses politik dari capres masing-masing kandidat.
English Abstract
This study began with the interest of researchers regarding the phenomenon of beginner voters related to politics, both participation and voter behavior. The issue of elections is important to know how the conditions for the participation of novice voters in voting. Lowokwaru Subdistrict, Malang City, became the location of the study because the number of Beginner Voters had a dominant number compared to other districts. Therefore, this study tries to describe the behavior of novice voters in the Presidential Election and the Presidential Election in the Lowokwaru District of Malang City in 2019 and identify aspects that have an impact on the behavior of the voter voters. The theory used in this study is the Theory of Political Participation and Voting Behavior, where this theory is relevant to be the basis of analysis because in this theory mentions several approaches that are the basis for knowing the conditions of beginner voter behavior, including sociological, psychological, and rational chice approaches. This research was conducted in-depth interviews with informants so that in-depth information was obtained related to the focus of the study. So that researchers use descriptive qualitative research methods by using purposive sampling and snowball sampling. Data collection methods used include primary data sources (interviews and observations) and secondary data (documentation). The analysis shows that of the three approaches (sociological, psychological, rational choice) shows that the most dominant aspect as a Beginner Voter in Malang Lowokwaru District in using their voting rights in the 2019 presidential election is the rationa choice approach where the majority of beginner voters are used as the informant in this study looked at the figure of the candidate for consideration. Achievement, quality, vision and mission are also taken into consideration for informants, but the consideration is more focused on the track record of the candidate figure. Since the novice voters come from groups that still tend to be easily influenced by the environment, this is not seen from the results of the study where the majority of novice voters already have access to information on the political process of each candidate.
