Abstract

Kehilangan kalsium mengakibatkan ketidakteraturan mikroporositas dan kekasaran permukaan enamel. Upaya mencegahnya yaitu dengan melakukan remineralisasi dengan penambahan kalsium. Cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa) mengandung kalsium yang cukup tinggi yaitu 98,88% sehingga kalsium pada cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa) berpotensi sebagai bahan remineralisasi enamel. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh kalsium dari cangkang kerang darah (Andara granosa) terhadap kekasaran permukaan enamel pada gigi sulung. Penelitian ini menggunakan true experimental randomized post-test only controlled group design secara in vitro. Sampel yang digunakan adalah gigi insisivus sulung rahang bawah yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok K- (Tanpa demineralisasi, tanpa kalsium), K+ (Demineralisasi, tanpa kalsium), P1 (Demineralisasi + Kalsium 1 mmol), P2 (Demineralisasi + Kalsium 3 mmol), P3 (Demineralisasi + Kalsium 5 mmol). Gigi dipreparasi dan dilakukan demineralisasi selama 5 hari kemudian gigi direndam dalam larutan kalsium selama 14 hari selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran kekasaran permukaan enamel dengan Surface Roughness Tester. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan ukuran nilai kekasaran yang signifikan antara kelompok kontrol postif dengan kelompok perlakuan (p < 0,05) dimana kontrol postif memiliki nilai kekasaran yang lebih besar dibandingkan kelompok perlakuan setelah diberikan kalsium dengan dosis 1 mmol, 3 mmol, dan 5 mmol menunjukkan pengaruh pada nilai kekasaran permukaan enamel gigi. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini yaitu kalsium dari cangkang kerang darah (Anadara granosa) dapat mempengaruhi kekasaran permukaan enamel pada gigi sulung.

English Abstract

Loss of calcium causes in microporosity irregularities and roughness on the enamel surface. Efforts to prevent the occurrence of microporosity irregularities and roughness on the enamel surface are to remineralize with addition of calcium. Blood cockle (Anadra granosa) contains fairy high calcium concentration (98,88%) which is potent to be an enamel remineralization material. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of calcium from Blood Cockle on surface roughness of demineralized in primary teeth. This research was conducted through the true experimental randomized post test only controlled group design with iin vitro method. The sample used was the lower primary incisivus teeth which were devide into 5 groups, such as; K- (without demineralization, without calcium), K+ (demineralization, without calcium), P1 (demineralization + calcium 1mmol), P2 (demineralization + calcium 3 mmol), P3 (demineralization + calcium 5mmol). The teeth was prepared and demineralization performed for 5-days, than the teeth was soaked in calcium solution for 14-days, the enamel surface roughness’s meansurement by Surface Roughness Tester. The result of this research showed that there was a significant differences in the size of the roughness values between the positive control group and the treatment group (p < 0,05) where positive control had a greater roughness value than the treatment group after being given calcium with a dose of 1 mmol, 3 mmol, and 5 mmol shows the effect on the surface roughness value of the tooth enamel. The research concluded that the calcium of blood cockle (Anadara granosa) can affect the enamel surface roughness in primary teeth.
