Abstract
Dimorfisme seksual adalah ciri khas yang dimiliki oleh makhluk hidup ditandai perubahan terhadap dimensi pada jaringan tubuh yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan jenis kelamin. Perbedaan pada ukuran gigi disebebakan oleh adanya perbedaan kromosom X dan kromosom Y. Kromosom Y mempengaruhi waktu amelogenesis lebih lama, sehingga mempenaruhi ketebalan enamel. Tujuan: Mengetahui perbedaan variasi anatomi tinggi dan lebar enamel pada gigi permanen laki-laki dan perempuan berdasarkan gambaran radiografi panoramik. Metode: Studi observasional dengan pendekan antropometri yang dilakukan dengan mengukur tinggi dan lebar enamel pada gigi permanen laki-laki dan perempuan. Sampel berupa 30 foto radiografi panoramik laki-laki dan 30 foto radiografi panoramik perempuan berusia 17-25 tahun. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan mengukur tinggi dan lebar incisivus sentral, incisivus lateral, caninus, premolar satu, premolar dua, molar satu dan molar dua pada seluruh regio menggunakan aplikasi ClinicView 3.02 kemudian melakukan pencatatan hasil pengukuran dan dilakukan uji statistik paired Ttest untuk pengukuran intra-observer serta uji independent T-test. Hasil uji paired T-test menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedan signifikan pada pengukuran pertama dan kedua (p>0.05). Hasil uji independent T-test menunjukan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara tinggi dan lebar enamel laki-laki dan perempuan.
English Abstract
Sexual dimorphism is a characteristic possessed by living things characterized by changes in dimensions in body tissues caused by sex differences. The difference in tooth size is caused by differences in the X chromosome and Y chromosome. The Y chromosome affects the time of amelogenesis longer, thus affecting the enamel thickness. Objective: To determine the differences in anatomical height and enamel width differences in male and female permanent teeth based on panoramic radiographs. Methods: Observational studies with anthropometric measurements were carried out by measuring the height and width of enamel in male and female permanent teeth. The sample consisted of 30 panoramic radiographic photos of men and 30 panoramic radiographs of women aged 17-25 years. Measurements were made by measuring the height and width of the central incisors, lateral incisors, canines, first premolars, second premolars, first molars and second molars in all regions using the ClinicView 3.02 application then recording the measurement results and statistical tests of paired T-tests for intrameasurements. observer and independent T-test. The results of the paired T-test showed no significant differences in the first and second measurements (p> 0.05). The results of the independent Ttest showed that there were significant differences between the height and width of male and female enamels.
