Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) merupakan metode pembelajaran di mana mahasiswa belajar melalui pemecahan masalah dan merefleksikan pengalaman mereka pada saat diskusi kelompok PBL. Sedangkan peran fasilitator adalah untuk mendukung dan mengawasi proses belajar diskusi kelompok PBL. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa tentang peran fasilitator saat memfasilitasi diskusi kelompok PBL. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian secara kualitatif merupakan suatu penelitian yang ditunjukkan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis fenomena, peristiwa, aktivitas siosial, sikap, kepercayaan, persepsi, pemikiran orang secara individual atau kelompok. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Pengalaman mahasiswa secara umum saat mengikuti diskusi kelompok PBL yaitu mahasiswa merasa bahwa PBL itu menyenangkan, bermanfaat, namun ada mahasiswa yang merasa bahwa PBL itu bosan, tidak tertarik, tidak penting. Peran fasilitator berdasarkan pengalaman belajar mahasiswa saat mengikuti kelompok PBL terbagi menjadi dua yaitu termotivasi dengan pembelajaran PBL seperti fasilitator yang mengarahkan, membimbing, memperhatikan, disiplin, tegas, memberi saran, menegur, menggali, meningkatkan partisipasi dan tidak termotivasi dengan pembelajaran PBL seperti fasilitator yang tidak peduli, tidak disiplin, dan membuang waktu.

English Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning method where students learn through problem solving and reflect on their experiences during PBL group discussions. While the role of the facilitator is to support and supervise the learning process of PBL group discussions. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions of students about the role of the facilitator when facilitating PBL group discussions. This type of research is qualitative research. Qualitative research is a study that is shown to describe and analyze phenomena, events, social activities, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, thoughts of individuals individually or in groups. The results of this study were the experience of students in general when participating in PBL group discussions, namely students felt that PBL was fun, useful, but there were students who felt that PBL was bored, not interested, not important. The role of the facilitator based on student learning experience while participating in the PBL group is divided into two namely motivated by PBL learning such as facilitators who direct, guide, pay attention, discipline, firm, advise, reprimand, explore, increase participation and not motivated by PBL learning such as facilitators who do not care, not discipline, and waste time.
