Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dinamika politik perseteruan yang berlangsung dalam penolakan kegiatan produksi serat kapas sintetis oleh PT Rayon Utama Makmur di Sukoharjo. Melalui kerangka teori Dynamic of Contention, peneliti menjelaskan politik perseteruan yang berlangsung dalam lima aspek : Pembentukan identitas, pembentukan aktor, eskalasi konflik, mobilisasi, hingga polarisasi aktor. Hasil dari studi ini menggambarkan bahwa pembentukan identitas kelompok penentang serat kapas sintetis berhasil dilakukan dengan cara mengembangkan repertoar berupa nilai kaidah ekologi yang memberikan legitimasi terhadap penolakan PT RUM. Sedangkan pada pembentukan aktor, baik aktor penentang maupun aktor pendukung, terbentuk seiring dengan struktur kesempatan politik berupa ancaman dan peluang yang melingkui. Pada praktik mobilisasi, kelompok penentang pabrik rayon sintetis menggunakan instrumen rasa persaudaraan korban pencemaran lingkungan. Mobilisasi berlangsung dalam tindakan aksi protes dan masyarakat bergerak secara “anut grubyuk”. Sehingga tindakan menjadi motivasibagi orang lain untuk terlibat dalam penolakan pabrik semen. Sedangkan polarisasi aktor tampil dengan terlibatnya akademisi, mahasiswa, aktivis, pegiat lingkungan dan politisi.
English Abstract
This study aims to describe the dynamics of contentious politics that occured in Sukoharjo to resist the production activities of Rayon Utama Makmur limited company. Through the framework of Dynamics of Contention, the researcher explains the contentious politics has five aspects : the identity formation, actor contitution, scale shift, mobilization, and polarization of actors. The result of this study illustrate that the identity of the rayon resistant group was successfully done by developing repertoire through ecological value rules to legitimate the resist of RUM Ltd. While the actor constitution, bot the pros and cons formed along with the structure of politics opportunity by threats and chance that surrounds. In the practice of mobilization, rayon resistant groups use sense of brotherhood of victims of environmental pollution. Mobilization takes place in protest action and the society moves in a manner called anut grubyuk. So that action becomes a motivation for others to be involved in the rejection of rayon factory. The polarization of actors happens with the involvement of the academis, scholars, activist, environmental avtivist and politicians.
