Abstract

Islam dengan sejarah panjangnya di Indonesia menggunakan masjid sebagai salah satu metode penyebarannya. Salah satu Wali Songo, yaitu Sunan Ampel selain berdakwah, menyebarkan Islam dengan membangun masjid. Salah satu masjid yang dibangun oleh Sunan Ampel adalah Masjid Jami Peneleh. Masjid yang diperkirakan dibangun pada tahun 1400an ini sudah mengalami beberapa renovasi. dalam perkembangan kawasan disekitar masjid, kawasan Peneleh ini berkembang menjadi kawasan yang padat. Masjid Jami Peneleh yang pada awalnya masih dapat dilihat dari sisi sebrang Kali Mas sekarang sudah tertutup pemukiman yang padat. Hal ini membuat keberadaan Masjid Jami Peneleh tidak terlihat. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan melakukan identifikasi secara langsung. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa keberadaan Masjid Jami Peneleh akan terlihat disaat memasuki kawasan Kampung Peneleh. pola sirkulasi yang terbentuk, penataan bangunan disekitar masjid, hingga fungsi bangunan sekitar terpengaruhi keberadaan masjid. Pada penataan kawasan yang sudah terbentuk dapat terlihat bahwa dalam perkembangannya keberadaan Masjid Jami Peneleh masih dipertimbangkan dan keberadaan Masjid Jami Peneleh dapat terlihat dari pola spasial kawasan hingga bangunan disekitar masjid saat sudah memasuki kawasan Kampung Peneleh.

English Abstract

Islam with it long history in Indonesia, using mosque as one of its methods of dissemination. One of the Wali Songo, namely Sunan Ampel beside preaching, spread Islam by building mosques. One of the mosques he built is the Jami Peneleh Mosque. The mosque which was estimated to be built in the 1400s has undergone several renovations. In the development of the area around the mosque, this area developed into a dense area. The Jami Peneleh Mosque, which was originally visible form the other side of the Kali Mas, is now closed to a dense neighbourhood. This makes the existence of the Jami Peneleh Mosque invinsible. The method used is descriptive qualitative by identifying direcly. The result obtained that the existence of the Jami Peneleh Mosque will be seen when entering the Kampung Peneleh area, the circulation that are formed, the arrangement of the building around the mosque, to the fuction of the building around the mosque are affected by the existence of the mosque. In the arrangement of the area that has been formed it can be seen that in its development the existence of the Jami Peneleh Mosque is still being considered and the existence of the Jami Peneleh Mosque can be seen from the spatial pattenr of the area to the building around the mosque when has entered the Kampung Peneleh area.
