Abstract
Luka bakar merupakan luka akibat terjadi kontak langsung terhadap sumber panas yang dapat menimbulkan kerusakan bagian tubuh dan dapat menimbulkan infeksi sekunder yang akan mempengaruhi kesembuhan luka. Pengobatan luka bakar umumnya menggunakan sediaan topikal ekstrak plasenta yang akan memicu re-epitelisasi. Sementara itu, Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan, antiinflamasi, dan antimikroba yang mampu mempercepat kesembuhan luka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan efek terapi antara salep VCO dengan sediaan topikal ekstrak plasenta dalam penyembuhan luka bakar derajat II-B. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan post test only two group experimental design dan menggunakan dua kelompok perlakuan terapi salep VCO (P1) dan sediaan topikal ekstrak plasenta (P2) yang diberikan dua kali sehari selama 7 hari. Analisa ekspresi IL-6 menggunakan metode Imunohistokimia dan jumlah sel neutrofil jaringan kulit tikus menggunakan pewarnaan Hematoksilin-Eosin. Data penelitian dianalisa secara statistik menggunakan uji T independen. Rata-rata ekspresi IL-6 pada kelompok P1 dan kelompok P2 didapatkan hasil 65,8044 dan 69,7311, sedangkan rata-rata jumlah sel neutrofil pada kelompok P1 dan kelompok P2 didapatkan 3,2222 dan 3,6889. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p>0,05) antara kelompok P1 dan kelompok P2 pada luka bakar derajat II-B berdasarkan ekspresi IL-6 dan jumlah sel neutrofil. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini ialah terapi salep VCO pada luka bakar derajat II-B memberikan respon yang relatif sama dengan sediaan topikal ekstrak plasenta berdasarkan ekspresi IL-6 dan jumlah neutrofil.
English Abstract
Burn are injuries that occurs due to direct contact of heat sources which can cause damage the body and can cause secondary infection that will affect to wound healing. Currently, treatment of burn generally used topical agent of extract placenta which has ability to accelerate re-epithelialization. Meanwhile, Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) has the potential as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial which capable to accelerate wound healing. The aim of this study to determine the difference of therapy effect between VCO ointment and topical agent of extract placenta in healing II-B degree of burn. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) with post test only two group experimental design and two treatments group with VCO ointment (P1) and topical agent of extract placenta (P2) given twice a day for 7 days. The expression of IL-6 was analyzed by immunohistochemistry method and number of neutrophil cells using HematoxylinEosin staining. Data were analyzed using an independent T test. The average expression of IL-6 in the P1 and P2 groups was 65,8044 and 69,7311, while the average number of neutrophil cells in the P1 and P2 groups was 3,2222 and 3,6889. The result showed that no significant difference (p>0,05) between the P1 group and P2 group in degree II-B burn wound based on IL-6 expression and neutrophil cells number. It can be concluded that VCO ointment has a relatively similar response to topical agent of placenta extract in degree II-B burn wound based on the expression of IL-6 and the number of neutrophil cells.
