Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian karakterisasi reservoir pada daerah penelitian di Cekungan Laut Timor yang sebagian besar berada di lepas pantai (offshore) dan meliputi area seluas sekitar 270.000 km2 dibatas barat laut benua Australia. Metode penelitian dalam karakterisasi reservoir ini menggunakan metode seismik inversi yang memberikan suatu model bawah permukaan dan metode seismik atribut yang memberikan gambaran bawah permukaan berdasarkan sifat-sifat gelombang seismik. Pada cekungan ini berisi suksesi sedimen dari zaman Paleozoikum, Mesozoikum, sampai Cenozoikum yang memiliki ketebalan sekitar 15 km, yang menampung cadangan minyak dan gas bumi yang signifikan. Berdasarkan metode seismik inversi dan seismik atribut yang telah dilakukan pada sumur CB-1, CB-2, CB-3, dan CB-4 memiliki rentang nilai impedansi akustik (AI) dari minimum ke maksimum 0 - 35000 ((ft/s)*(g/cc)). Dimana pada sumur CB-1 nilai (AI) antara 10000-15000 ((ft/s)*(g/cc)); sumur CB-2 nilai (AI) antara 25000- 30000 ((ft/s)*(g/cc)); sumur CB-3 nilai (AI) antara 15000-20000 ((ft/s)*(g/cc)); dan sumur CB-4 nilai (AI) antara 20000-25000 ((ft/s)*(g/cc)). Apabila nilai dari (AI) semakin rendah maka porositas akan semakin bagus sehingga prospek akumulasi hidrokarbon akan semakin baik. Hasil analisis karakterisasi reservoir menunjukkan bahwa reservoir yang berada pada lingkungan pengendapan estuari laut dangkal memiliki karakter batupasir bersifat tight dengan panjang reservoir sekitar 3.5 km dan tebal reservoir sekitar 90 meter. Reservoir membentuk bar-bar memanjang ke arah baratutara yang berorientasi ke arah NW-SE yang terbentuk pada zaman Jurasik pada Formasi Plover dan Formasi Elang. Indikasi kandungan hidrokarbon pada zona terget penelitian berupa gas pada lingkungan pengendapan estuari yang dahulunya sebagai morfologi dari braided stream.

English Abstract

Reservoir characterization research has been conducted in the research area of Timor Marine Basin which is largely offshore and covers an area of about 270.000 km2 in northwest boundary of Australian continent. The research method in this reservoir characterization uses an seismic inversion method that provides a subsurface model and seismic attribute method that provide an overview of subsurface based on seismic wave properties. In this basin contains a succession of sediments from Paleozoic, Mesozoic, to Cenozoic period which has a thickness of about 15 km, which accommodates significant oil and gas reserves. Based on seismic inversion method and seismic attribute that have been performed on wells of CB-1, CB-2, CB-3, and CB-4 have a range of acoustic impedance (AI) values from minimum to maximum is 0-35000 ((ft / s) * (g / cc)). Where the CB-1 well have value (AI) is between 10000-15000 ((ft / s) * (g / cc)); CB-2 well have value (AI) between 25000-30000 ((ft / s) * (g / cc)); CB-3 well have value (AI) between 15000-20000 ((ft / s) * (g / cc)); and CB-4 well have value (AI) between 20000-25000 ((ft / s) * (g / cc)). If value of (AI) is lower then the porosity will be better so that prospect of accumulating hydrocarbons will be improved. The results of reservoir characterization analysis show that reservoir in shallow marine estuary depositional environment has a tight sandstone character with a reservoir length of about 3.5 km and a reservoir thickness of about 90 meters. Reservoir formed a bars extending to north-west oriented to NW-SE which formed in Jurassic period in Plover formation and Eagle Formation. Indication of hydrocarbon content in target zone is gas in estuary depositional environment which was previously morphology of braided stream.
