Abstract
LATAR BELAKANG: Biofilm yang dibentuk oleh Proteus mirabilis merupakan cara untuk menghindar dari respon imun tubuh dan menyebabkan resistensi terhadap antibiotik. TUJUAN: Untuk membuktikan apakah flavonoid ekstrak buah mahkota dewa mampu menghambat pembentukan biofilm Proteus mirabilis METODE: Kami melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan desain penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan metode tabung. Konsentrasi flavonoid ekstrak buah mahkota dewa yang digunakan terdiri atas: 0%, 0.8375%, 1.675%, 3.125%, dan 6.25% dengan enam kali pengulangan. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Fakultas Kedokteran Brawijaya Malang. HASIL: Secara visual terjadi penipisan cincin biofilm bakteri Proteus mirabilis pada area air fluid border pada konsentrasi konsentrasi 6.25%. Selain itu, semakin meningkatnya konsentrasi flavonoid ekstrak buah mahkota dewa semakin kuat efek penghambatan biofilmnya (r=0.853). KESIMPULAN: Flavonoid ekstrak buah mahkota dewa memiliki potensi antibakteri terhadap penghambatan pembentukan biofilm bakteri Proteus mirabilis secara in vitro.
English Abstract
BACKGROUND: Biofilm formed by Proteus mirabilis is the way to avoid the body's immune response and cause resistance to antibiotics. METHODS: We conduct research using experimental laboratory research designs with the tubular method. The concentration of the flavonoid extract of mahkota dewa’s fruit consisted of: 0%, 0.8375%, 1,675%, 3.125%, and 6.25% with six repetitions. The study was conducted at the Laboratory of Microbiology Medicine Faculty of Brawijaya Malang. OBJECTIVE: To prove whether the flavonoid of mahkota dewa’s fruit is able to inhibit the formation of biofilm of Proteus mirabilis RESULTS: Visually the biofilm ring of Proteus mirabilis thinning at air fluid border area at a concentration of 6.25%. In addition, the better the concentration of flavonoids extract of mahkota dewa’s fruit the stronger the biofilm inhibitory effect (r = 0.853). CONCLUSION: In vitro, flavonoid extract of mahkota dewa’s fruit has antibacterial potential to inhibit the formation of biofilm of Proteus mirabilis.
