Abstract

Prevalensi Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 di Jawa Timur menempati urutan ke-5, lebih tinggi dari prevalensi nasional (2,5%, nasional 2,1%) dan Malang menempati urutan ke-5 di Jawa Timur. Asupan Serat merupakan asupan makanan yang penting dalam mendukung asupan makanan pasien diabetes. Serat dianjurkan untuk dikonsumsi bagi penderita diabetes melitus sebanyak 25-30 gram/hari. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui hubungan asupan serat dengan persen lemak tubuh pada pada pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2. Penelitan ini merupakan penelitian cross sectional yang dilakukan pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 dengan kriteria inklusi usia 35-59 tahun, yang diambil secara purposive sampling yang sejumlah 55 orang. Asupan serat diukur dengan menggunakan metode food record selama 5 hari berurutan. Persen lemak tubuh diukur dengan menggunakan BIA. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai median asupan serat 6,34 gram/hari dan nilai rata-rata persen lemak tubuh responden 33,96%. Hasil Uji analisa hubungan asupan serat dengan persen lemak tubuh menggunakan uji Spearmen’s rho (CI=95%) adalah p=0,885. Disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan asupan serat dengan persen lemak tubuh pada pasien Diabetes Melitus tipe 2 di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Arjuno Kota Malang.

English Abstract

The prevalence of type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in East Java ranks 5th, higher than the national prevalence (2.5%, national 2.1%) and Malang ranks 5th in East Java. Fiber intake is an important food intake in supporting food intake for diabetic patients. Because fiber is a group of carbohydrates whose chemical composition is complex and in the body can act as a factor that can reduce body fat. Fiber is recommended for consumption for people with diabetes mellitus as much as 25-30 grams / day.The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of fiber intake with percent body fat in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. This research is a cross sectional study conducted on patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with inclusion criteria aged 35-59 years, taken by purposive sampling which amounted to 55 people. Fiber intake is measured using the food record method for 5 consecutive days. Percent body fat is measured using BIA. The results of this study indicate that the median fiber intake of 6.34 grams / day and the average value of respondents body fat percent were 33.96%. Test results analysis of the relationship of fiber intake with percent body fat using the Spearmen's rho test (CI = 95%) showed the relationship value of fiber intake and percent body fat p = 0.885. It was concluded that there was no correlation between fiber intake and percent body fat in patients with type 2 diabtes mellitus in the work area of Arjuno Health Center, Klojen District Malang City.
