Abstract
Latar belakang penelitian ini yaitu lemahnya hasil keterampilan berdebat dan lemahnya rasa toleransi siswa SMKN 2 Malang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan teknik eksplorasi kasus dan mengetahui pengaruh penerapan teknik eksplorasi kasus terhadap keterampilan berdebat untuk menanamkan karakter toleransi siswa. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu keterampilan berdebat. Selain itu, teori pendidikan karakter toleransi dan teknik eksplorasi kasus.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis eksperimen. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Pariwisata SMKN 2 Malang dengan jumlah sampel 30 anak. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, hasil tes pretest dan posttest, hasil validitas, dan reliabilitas instrumen penelitian. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini meliputi: pedoman wawancara, kisi-kisi soal pretest dan posttest, dan perhitungan validitas isi, butir soal continue dan reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian dari analisis menggunakan Uji-t terhadap skor posttest keterampilan berdebat kelas ekpserimen memperoleh hasil perhitungan thitung (th) sebesar -9.256 dengan (ttb) sebesar -2,002. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa perhitungan thitung (th) lebih kecil dari ttabel (ttb) dapat diartikan teknik eksplorasi kasus memiliki pengaruh terhadap keterampilan berdebat untuk menanamkan karakter toleransi siswa. Simpulan pertama dalam penelitian ini yaitu penerapan teknik eskplorasi kasus terhadap keterampilan berdebat untuk menanamkan karakter toleransi siswa (1) guru meminta siswa mengolah informasi, (2) siswa diminta untuk berpikir ktiris, (3) siswa diminta untuk mengobservasi, (4) siswa diminta untuk memecahkan masalah , (5) siswa diminta untuk mengimplementasikan. Simpulan kedua yaitu pembelajaran dengan menggunakan teknik eksplorasi kasus memeiliki pengaruh terhadap keterampilan berdebat untuk menanamkan karakter toleransi siswa kelas X SMKN 2 Malang.
English Abstract
The background of this study is the low debating skills and the low tolerance of the students of SMKN 2 Malang. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of case exploration techniques and to know the effect of applying case exploration techniques to debating skills to embed students' tolerance characteristics. The theory used in this study is case debating skills. Moreover exploration techniques, and tolerance characteristics. This study uses a quantitative approach and it is an experimental research. The subjects in this study were all students of class X Tourism in SMKN 2 Malang with a total sample of 30 students. The data in this study were obtained from interviews, the results of the pretest and posttest, the results of validity, and the reliability of the research instruments. The instruments used in this study include: interview guidelines, pretest and posttest grids, and calculation of content validity, continue test items and reliability. From the results of the t-test analysis on the control and the experimental class posttest score, a calculation is obtained, tcount (th) of -9,256 with (ttb) of -2,002. Based on the calculation, tcount (tth) < ttable (tth) or -9.256 < -2.002, tcount (th) is smaller than ttable (ttb).These results indicate that the calculation of tcount (th) with ttable (ttb) is significant it means that case exploration technique has an influence on debating skills to embed students' tolerance characteristics.The first conclusion in this study is the application of case exploration techniques to debating skills to embed students' tolerance of class X of SMKN 2 Malang as follows: (1) the teacher asks the students to process information from real experience. (2) students are asked to do the critical thinking. (3) students are asked to observe. (4) students are asked to solve the problem. (5) students are asked to implement what they had learned. The second conclusion is learning using case exploration techniques has an influence on debating skills to embed students' tolerance of class X of SMKN 2 Malang.
