Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan masa ketika seseorang mengalami berbagai macam perubahan, termasuk perubahan fisik. Pada masa remaja seseorang cenderung lebih memperhatikan tubuhnya dan terkadang merasa tidak puas terhadap perubahan fisik yang dialami sehingga menganggap tubuhnya tidak ideal. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan remaja memiliki body image negatif dan melakukan berbagai macam hal demi mendapatkan tubuh ideal yang diinginkan. Penyuluhan kesehatan dapat menjadi salah satu solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan kesehatan terhadap body image remaja putri di SMK NMC Malang. Design penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasy experimental dengan pre test-post test control group design. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah siswi kelas 10 SMK NMC Malang (n=126) yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata body image pada kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan (sebelum mendapatkan perlakuan) adalah negatif. Body image positif ditemukan lebih tinggi pada kelompok perlakuan setelah mendapatkan perlakuan. Hasil uji statistik Paired T-test menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan rata-rata body image pada kelompok perlakuan sebelum dan setelah mendapatkan penyuluhan (p value<0.001). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh penyuluhan kesehtan terhadap body image remaja putri di SMK NMC Malang.

English Abstract

Adolescene is a period when someone have various kinds of changes, including physical changes. In adolescene periode, someone tends to pay more attention to their body and sometimes feel dissatisfied with their physical changes so they assume that their body is not ideal. This thing could caused the adolescene to have negative body image and does various things to get the ideal body they want. Health education could be a solution for this problem. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of health education on body image of teenage girl at SMK NMC Malang. This study used quasy experimental design with pre-post test control group. The sample of this study was the 10th grade student of SMK NMC Malang (n=126) which was selected by purposive sampling method. The result of this study indicate that the average body image in the control group and the intervention group (before getting intervention) was negative. Positive body image was higher in the intervention group after getting intervention. The result of the statistical test Paired T-test showed that there were differences in the average body image of the intervention group before and after getting health education (p value<0.001). The conclusion of this study is the health education does influence the body image of the teenage girl at SMK NMC Malang.
