Abstract

Keputihan disebabkan oleh salah satu jamur Candida albicans yang secara medis disebut dengan kandidiasis vaginalis. Prevalensi angka kejadian keputihan 40% dengan sifat cairan yang keluar biasanya putih seperti susu, kental, berbau, dan disertai urtikaria pada vulva dan vagina. Pilihan pengobatan tradisional dapat dipilih untuk mengurangi ketidaknyamanan karena keputihan. Kulit jeruk keprok (Citrus reticulata Blanco) mengandung alkaloid, flavonoid, dan saponin. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit jeruk keprok mempunyai efek antifungi terhadap Candida albicans secara in vitro. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dilusi agar pada medium Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) dan sampel uji berupa empat isolat Candida albicans yang berasal dari penderita kandidiasis vaginalis dengan 6 konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu konsentrasi kontrol (0%) dan perlakuan (15%, 17.5%, 20%, 22.5% dan 25%). Hasil uji Kruskal-Wallis didapatkan perbedaan bermakna (p=0,000) dan uji Spearman menunjukkan hubungan antara kenaikan ekstrak konsentrasi ekstrak etanol kulit jeruk keprok dengan pertumbuhan koloni Candida albicans (r=-0,979). Hasil tersebut bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak etanol kulit jeruk keprok maka semakin rendah tingkat pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak kulit jeruk keprok memiliki pertumbuhan Candida albicans dengan Kadar Hambat Minimal (KHM) pada konsentrasi 25%

English Abstract

Leucorrhoea is caused by one of the fungi Candida albicans which is medically called candidiasis vaginalis. The prevalence of leucorrhoea is 40% with the characteristic of fluid coming out is usually thick, white as milk, smelling, and accompanied by intense itching in the vulva and vagina. Traditional treatment options are also chosen to reduce discomfort due to vaginal discharge. Tangerine peel (Citrus reticulata Blanco) contains flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids. The aim of this study to evidence that extract has an antifungal effect on Candida albicans in vitro. This study used the agar dilution method in the Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) medium and the test sample was in the form of four isolates of Candida albicans from patients with vaginal candidiasis with 6 concentrations extract namely control concentration (0%) and treatment (15%, 17.5%, 20%, 22.5%, 25%). The results of Kruskal-Wallis analysis showed significant difference (p= 0,000) and Spearman test showed a relationship between the increase in extract concentrations of ethanol extract tangerine peel and the growth colonies of Candida albicans (r= -0,979). The outcome showed that the higher concentration of ethanol extract tangerine peel, the lower growth level of Candida albicans. It can be concluded that tangerine peel extract has growth of Candida albicans with a Minimum Inhibitory Level (MIC) at a concentration of 25%
