Abstract
Saat ini, jelas terlihat bahwa pentingnya sektor pariwisata khususnya di kawasan ASEAN telah dibayangi oleh pentingnya sektor lain seperti industri dan sektor jasa. Tetapi kebangkitan kembali sektor pariwisata baru-baru ini oleh Bank Dunia telah membawa perhatian besar, terutama melalui pemasaran dan strategi, dengan harapan bahwa ini akan membuka pasar untuk meningkatkan sektor pariwisata di ASEAN. Mengenai hal ini, terdapat kekhawatiran besar mengenai potensi dampak negatif Pengeluaran Asing terhadap pendapatan PDB di kawasan ASEAN. Dengan demikian, tesis ini berkenaan dengan meneliti dampak Pengeluaran Asing terhadap PDB ASEAN dengan menggunakan data panel sederhana dari tahun 1995 hingga 2017. Analisis penelitian ini dikembangkan dengan memanfaatkan pengeluaran asing sebagai variabel dependen; menggunakan investasi modal, pengeluaran pemerintah, tingkat pekerjaan, nilai tukar, dan PDB sebagai variabel independen untuk melengkapi analisis. Hasil empiris dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Pengeluaran Asing signifikan dan memiliki hubungan positif dengan PDB di kawasan ASEAN.
English Abstract
Nowadays, it is clearly visible that the importance of tourism sector particularly in the ASEAN region has been overshadowed by the importance of other sectors such as industrialization and service sectors. But the recent revival of the tourism sector by the World Bank has brought a major attention, particularly through marketing and strategy, hoping that these would open markets to increase tourism sector of ASEAN. Regarding this, there exists large concerns regarding the potential negative impact of Tourism Receipts to the income of GDP in ASEAN region. Thus, this thesis is concerned to examine the impact of Tourism Receipts to the ASEAN’s GDP by using simple panel data from the year 1995 to 2017. The Analysis of this research is developed by utilizing Tourism Receipts as the dependent variable; using Capital investment, Government expenditure, Employment rate, Exchange rate, and GDP as the independent variables to complement the analysis. The empirical result of the study addressed that Tourism Receipts is significant and has a positive relationship to the GDP in ASEAN region.
