Abstract

Kacang tanah (Arachis hypogeae L.) sebagai salah satu komoditas pangan terbesar di Indonesia mengalami penurunan produksi dikarenakan media tanam yang masam sehingga ketersediaan hara dalam tanah tidak bisa memenuhi kebutuhan bagi tanaman. Tanah dengan pH yang masam menyebabkan beberapa unsur hara tidak tersedia dalam tanah seperti P, Ca, dan Mg. Disisi lain, konsumsi telur ayam yang tinggi di Indonesia mengakibatkan banyaknya limbah cangkang telur yang belum dimanfaatkan secara masif. Cangkang telur ayam mengandung unsur hara P, Ca, dan Mg yang mampu memperbaiki pH tanah dan ketersediaan hara dalam tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh aplikasi tepung cangkang telur ayam terhadap ketersediaan P, Ca, dan Mg dalam tanah serta meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi kacang tanah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Green House Dau Sengkaling dan Laboratorium Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Brawijaya, Malang pada bulan Maret hingga Juli 2019. Parameter pengamatan terdiri dari analisis Ca, Mg, P dalam tanah, dan tinggi tanaman, jumlah tangkai daun, jumlah polong berisi, dan bobot kering polong tanaman kacang tanah. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, yaitu P1= kontrol (tanpa cangkang telur), P2= 1,6 g cangkang telur polybag-1, P3= 3,2 g cangkang telur polybag-1, P4= 4,8 g cangkang telur polybag-1, P5= 6,4 g cangkang telur polybag-1. Data diuji dengan ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan Multiple Range Test taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi tepung cangkang telur ayam berpengaruh nyata dan menunjukkan nilai tertinggi terhadap ketersediaan Ca, Mg, dan P berturut-turut yaitu sebesar 9,23 me 100 g-1, 1,94 me 100 g-1, dan 13,59 ppm terdapat pada perlakuan aplikasi cangkang telur 6,4 g polybag-1 setara dengan 1,2 ton ha-1. Aplikasi tepung cangkang telur ayam berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah tangkai daun dengan hasil tertinggi berturut-turut yaitu 56,45 cm, 43 tangkai didapatkan pada perlakuan aplikasi tepung cangkang telur 3,2 g polybag-1 setara dengan 0,6 ton ha-1. Aplikasi tepung cangkang telur berpengaruh nyata meningkatkan jumlah polong berisi yaitu 43,33%. Tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap berat kering polong dan berat 100 biji kacang tanah.

English Abstract

Peanut (Arachis hypogeae L.) as one of the largest food commodities in Indonesia has decreased production due to acidic growing media so that the availability of nutrients in the soil cannot meet the needs of plants. Soils with acidic pH cause some nutrients are not available in the soil such as P, Ca, and Mg. On the other hand, high consumption of chicken eggs in Indonesia has resulted in a large amount of eggshell waste that has not been utilized massively. Chicken eggshells contain nutrients P, Ca, and Mg which can improve soil pH and nutrient availability in the soil. This study aims to analyze the effect of the application of chicken eggshell flour on the availability of P, Ca, and Mg in the soil and increase the growth and production of peanuts. This research was held at the Green House Dau Sengkaling and Soil Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University, Malang start from March until July 2019. Observation parameters consisted of analysis of Ca, Mg, P in soil, and plant height, number of leaf stalks, number of filled pods, the dry weight of the groundnut pods, and 100 seeds weight. This research used a Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 3 replications, with treatment P1 = control (without eggshell), P2 = 1.6 g eggshell polybag-1, P3 = 3.2 g eggshell polybag-1, P4 = 4.8 g polybag-1 eggshell, P5 = 6.4 g polybag-1 eggshell. Data were tested with ANOVA and continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test with a level of 5%. The results showed that the application of chicken eggshell flour had a significant effect and the highest value on the availability of Ca, Mg, and P, which were 9.23 me 100 g-1, 1.94 me 100 g-1, and 13.59 ppm was found in the treatment which application of eggshell dosage 6,4 g polybag-1 or equal to 1,2 ton ha-1. The application of chicken eggshell flour significantly affected on plant height, number of leaf stems that is equal to 56.45 cm, 43 stems were found in the treatment which application of eggshell dosage 3,2 g polybag-1 or equal to 0,6 ton ha-1. The application of eggshell flour did not significant effect on dry weight and 100 seeds weight of groundnut.
