Abstract
Tren konsumsi jagung perkapita yang naik sebesar 43,46% pertahun dalam 5 tahun terakhir (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2017) membuktikan jagung menjadi salah satu komoditas yang mulai dikembangkan sebagai alternatif bahan pangan, termasuk juga jagung manis. Tuntutan untuk meningkatkan produksi jagung manis membuat pasar benih jagung manis menjadi pasar yang potensial bagi produsen benih seiring dengan peningkatan kebutuhan benih jagung manis itu sendiri. Kecamatan Plemahan merupakan salah satu sentra produksi jagung manis di Kabupaten Kediri. Kebutuhan benih jagung manis di lokasi penelitian dipenuhi oleh tiga merek. Namun petani hanya menggunakan satu merek benih jagung manis pada masa tanam terakhir, yaitu merek Talenta. Petani menggunakan merek tersebut karena memiliki atribut keunggulan yang tidak dimiliki oleh merek lainnya, yaitu lebih tahan terhadap hama dan penyakit dibandingkan dengan merek benih jagung manis lainnya. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu, (1) Menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian antara tingkat kepentingan dan kinerja dari atribut benih jagung manis di Kecamatan Plemahan, Kabupaten Kediri, dan (2) Menganalisis tingkat kepuasan petani di Kecamatan Plemahan, Kabupaten Kediri terhadap tingkat kinerja atribut benih jagung manis. Penelitian dilakukan kepada 40 petani responden menggunakan metode cluster sampling two-stage dan perhitungan menggunakan metode slovin. Data primer yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan Importance Performance Analysis dan Customer Satisfaction Index. Hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah (1) masih terdapat 5 atribut yang memiliki nilai tingkat kesesuaian di bawah 100%, yaitu hasil produksi, ketahanan terhadap hama, ketahanan terhadap penyakit, daya simpan, dan bentuk tanaman. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kinerja benih jagung manis di Kecamatan Plemahan masih belum memenuhi harapan petani. (2) Melalui analisis IPA terdapat 5 atribut yang termasuk ke dalam kuadran I yang menjadi prioritas perbaikan utama yaitu hasil produksi, ketahanan terhadap hama, ketahanan terhadap penyakit, daya simpan, dan bentuk tanaman. Peningkatan kinerja perlu dilakukan untuk dapat memenuhi harapan petani, terutama pada atribut produk di kuadran I. (3) Secara umum petani di Kecamatan Plemahan sangat puas dengan benih jagung manis dengan nilai CSI sebesar 82,52%. Dengan indeks CSI yang berada di atas 80%, maka dapat diartikan bahwa petani pengguna produk benih jagung manis secara umum sangat puas dengan produk tersebut. Terdapat 6 atribut yang perlu diperbaiki yaitu bentuk tanaman, kuantitas hasil produksi, ketahanan terhadap hama, ketahanan terhadap penyakit, daya simpan, dan warna biji.Produsen benih jagung manis diharapkan dapat memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kinerja atribut produk, terutama yang berada pada kuadran I dengan cara melakukan melakukan riset lebih lanjut terhadap atribut produk yang perlu diperbaiki agar dapat memenuhi harapan konsumen. Sedangkan bagi produsen benih jagung manis yang akan masuk ke dalam pasar baru disarankan untuk menjalin kerjasama yang baik dengan pihak-pihak yang berpengaruh di lingkungan pertanian terkait.
English Abstract
The trend of corn consumption per capita that increases 43,46% in the last 5 years (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2017) is proving corn as a commodity that is started to be developed as an alternative food, including sweet corn. The need of increasing sweet corn production has turned hybrid sweet corn seed market into a potential market for seed producer. Plemahan sub-district is one of the centers of sweet corn production in Kediri Regency. The needs of sweet corn seeds at the research location are met by three brands. However, farmers only used one brand of sweet corn seed during the last planting period, the Talenta brand. Farmers use Talenta because they have advantages attributes that are not shared by other brands, which are more resistant to pests and diseases compared to the other sweet corn seed brands. Based on those backgrounds, the objectives of this research are (1) Analyzing the level of conformity between the level of importance and performance of the attributes of sweet corn seeds in the Plemahan District, Kediri Regency, and (2) Analyzing the level of satisfaction of farmers in the Plemahan District, Kediri Regency on the level of performance of the attributes of sweet corn seeds. The study was conducted on 40 respondent farmers by using the two-stage cluster sampling method and the respondents calculation is using the Slovin method. The primary data that collected are analyzed using the Importance Performance Analysis and Customer Satisfaction Index. The results obtained from this study are (1) there are still 5 attributes that have a value of conformity level below 100%, there are production results, resistance to pests, resistance to disease, storability, and shape of plants. This is shows that the level of performance of sweet corn seeds in the Plemahan District are still not meet the expectations of farmers. (2) Through IPA analysis there are 5 attributes that are included in quadrant I which are the main priority improvements, namely production, resistance to pests, resistance to disease, storability, and shape of plants. Performance improvement needs to be done to be able to meet the expectations of farmers, especially in the product attributes in quadrant I. (3) In general farmers in the District of Plemahan very satisfied with sweet corn seeds with a CSI value of 82.52%. With the result of the CSI index above 80%, it can be interpreted that farmers who use sweet corn seed products are generally very satisfied with the product. There are 6 attributes that needs to be improved, namely the shape of the plant, the quantity of production, resistance to pests, resistance to disease, storability, and color of the seeds.
