Abstract
Permasalahan sampah plastik yang membahayakan lingkungan merupakan permasalahan lingkungan secara global yang banyak disorot saat ini. Salah satu penyebab jumlah sampah plastik terus meningkat dari waktu ke waktu dikarenakan kebiasaan manusia untuk menggunakan plastik sebagai kemasan makanan dan minuman. Botol minuman berbahan dasar plastik merupakan salah satu jenis sampah plastik yang paling banyak ditemui. Solusi untuk mengurangi jumlah sampah botol plastik dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan perilaku konsumsi berkelanjutan yaitu menggunakan botol minum yang dapat digunakan berulang kali. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka dilakukan penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proporsi mahasiswa yang menggunakan botol minum dengan mahasiswa yang membeli air minum dalam kemasan (AMDK), mendeskripsikan setiap variabel dalam penelitian dan menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi niat mahasiswa untuk menggunakan botol minum pada masa yang akan datang ditinjau berdasarkan Theory of Planned Behavior. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Februari–Maret 2019 di Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya. Responden pada penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Program Studi Agribisnis angkatan 2016, 2017, dan 2018 sejumlah 282 mahasiswa yang ditentukan melalui teknik acak stratifikasi proporsional. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kuesioner untuk memperoleh jawaban langsung dari responden. Setelah itu dilakukan pengolahan data dengan analisis statistik deskriptif berupa ukuran pemusatan data dan analisis statistik inferensia berupa analisis regresi linear berganda. Keseluruhan analisis dibantu dengan aplikasi Microsoft Excel dan SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa telah menggunakan botol minum yang dapat digunakan berulang kali. Hal ini menunjukan sebuah perilaku yang positif dikarenakan kebanyakan mahasiswa telah menerapkan perilaku berkelanjutan melalui penggunaan botol minum yang dapat digunakan berulang kali. Mayoritas mahasiswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap manfaat penggunaan botol minum, persepsi ragu-ragu terhadap sikap referen, dan persepsi sangat positif terhadap faktor kontrol penggunaan botol minum. Berdasarkan analisis regresi linear berganda yang telah dilakukan, diketahui bahwa variabel sikap, norma subjektif, dan kontrol perilaku berpengaruh signifikan terhadap niat mahasiswa untuk menggunakan botol minum yang dapat digunakan berulang kali di masa yang akan datang. Faktor yang paling besar memberikan kontribusi terhadap niat adalah kontrol perilaku sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai pertimbangan utama dalam penyusunan kebijakan terkait perilaku konsumsi berkelanjutan. Saran yang dapat diberikan yaitu pihak fakultas atau jurusan yaitu melakukan promosi perilaku berkelanjutan dan menyediakan air isi ulang dilingkungan kampus agar mendukung mahasiswa dalam penggunaan botol minum.
English Abstract
Plastic waste that endangers our environment is one of the biggest problem that we facing today. One of the reason that increasing plastic waste over time due to human habits to use plastic as food and beverage packaging. Plastic bottles are one of the most common types of plastic waste. The solution to reduce the amount of plastic bottle waste can be done by applying sustainable consumption behavior that is using reuseable water bottle. Based on these problems, this study was conducted which aims to describe the proportion of the student that use reuseable water bottle and the student that choose to buy bottled water, describe each variable that used in this research and analyze the factors that influence student’s intention to use reuseable water bottle in the future to be reviewed based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. This research was conducted in February-March 2019 at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya with the consideration that the Faculty of Agriculture has implemented one of the sustainable education in its curriculum, namely sustainable agriculture. Respondents in this study were students of 2016, 2017, and 2018 Agribusiness Major with a total of 282 students determined through proportional stratified random sampling method. Data was collected by questionnaires to obtain answers directly from respondents. After that data processing was carried out with descriptive statistical analysis in the form of data concentration measures and inferential statistical analysis in the form of multiple linear regression analysis. Data analyze is using Microsoft Excel and SPSS. The results showed that majority of students has used reuseable water bottles. This shows a positive behavior because most students have implemented sustainable behavior through the use of reuseable water bottle so that it has the potential to reduce the amount of plastic bottle waste. Majority of students have a positive perception about the benefit of using reuseable water bottle, doubt perception to the refferent attitude, and very positive perception about the control factor that facilitate or inhibit using of reuseable water bottle. Based on the multiple linear regression analysis, it is known that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control have a significant effect on student’s intention to use reuseable water bottle in the future. The biggest factor contributing to intention is perceived behavioral control so that it can be used as a primary consideration in the formulation of policies related to sustainable consumption behavior. Suggestions that can be given are faculties can promote sustainable behavior and provide refill water within the campus to support students in using reuseable water bottle.
