Abstract
Manusia dan lingkungannya merupakan dua entitas yang tidak dapat dipisahkan semenjak hadirnya manusia di permukaan bumi. Nama-nama daerah ini beragam dan memiliki latar belakang tertentu. Arsitektur sebagai salah satu produk budaya menyimpan serangkaian jejak peradaban dalam bentuk konsep dan artefak. Jejak peradaban tersebut antara lain berupa arsitektur yang dituangkan dalam bentuk linguistik (berupa teks). Toponimi suatu daerah merupakan identitas yang membedakannya dengan daerah lain, karena toponimi merupakan hasil kebudayaan masyarakat di suatu daerah yang bersumber dari hubungan timbal baliknya dengan lingkungan di sekitarnya, baik aspek fisik maupun nonfisik. Madura salah satunya. Penelitian ini bertujuan yaitu mengidentifikasi nama desa di wilayah Madura secara toponimi dan menelusuri kaitan antara nama desa dengan konsep spasial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif-kualitatif dengan strategi segmented dan coding dari nama-nama desa di wilayah Madura dengan perangkat lunak JMP (Dibaca Jump). Pengkodean ditentukan berdasarkan proses analisis kuantitatif yang masuk dalam siginificant value dan hasil dari analisis dijelaskan secara kualitatif.
English Abstract
Toponymy of an area is an identity that distinguishes it from other regions. The process of developing a region, the name can be interpreted as an agreement between citizens in perceiving how they behave and characterize in various activities in it. Architecture as one of the cultural products keeps a series of traces of civilization in the form of concepts and artifacts. Humans and their environment are two entities that cannot be separated since the presence of humans on the surface of the earth. The names of these regions are diverse and have certain backgrounds. Architecture as one of the cultural products keeps a series of traces of civilization in the form of concepts and artifacts. The footsteps of civilization include architecture in the form of linguistics (in the form of text). The link between the name and the concept of architecture in the Madura region. The research method used in the Topographical Madura Region Geographically Cultural is descriptive quantitative-qualitative. Quantitative analysis uses JMP software. There is a close connection between the name and the concept of architecture because toponymy is a cultural process. Toponymy search shows not only the geographical naming of the region but on understanding spatial concepts.
