Abstract

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) merupakan bahan bakar gas yang sering kita jumpai sebagai pengganti bahan bakar fosil yang digunakan seperti bensin. Pemakaian CNG ini memiliki beberapa kekurangan jika dibandingkan dengan bahan bakar yang sering kita digunakan terutama dalam segi performa saat digunakan pada motor bakar. Penambahan kadar hidrogen pada CNG mampu memberikan pengaruh yang baik pada emisi gas buang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari setiap penambahan kadar hidrogen terhadap kandungan gas buang pada motor Otto 4 langkah dan dibandingkan satu sama lain. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan variasi penambahan kadar hidrogen sebesar 5%, 10%, 15% dan 20%. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan mengalirkan gas buang yang keluar menuju stargas analyzer.Hasil penelitian yang didapat bahwa penambahan kadar hidrogen dapat mempercepat durasi pembakaran pada Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Penambahan kadar hidrogen sebesar 10% pembakaran terjadi paling sempurna dibandingkan dengan penambahan kadar hidrogen sebesar 5%, 10% dan 20%. Jumlah emisi pada penambahan kadar hidrogen sebesar 10% menghasilkan emisi CO2 paling tinggi yaitu 5,66% dan menghasilkan emisi CO dan HC yang paling rendah yaitu 0,11% dan 56p.p.m. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh perbandingan (air fuel ratio) AFR aktual dari penambahan kadar hidrogen 10% yang mendekati AFR teoritis. Perbedaan yang kecil antara AFR aktual dan teoritis menandakan bahwa campuran yang dibutuhkan selama proses pembakaran sesuai.

English Abstract

The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a gas fuel that we often encounter as a substitute for fossil fuels used like gasoline.The use of CNG has some disadvantages when compared to the fuel that we often use especially in terms of performance when used on a fuel.The addition of hydrogen levels to CNG is capable of providing a good influence on exhaust emissions.The purpose of this research is to know the influence of any addition of hydrogen levels to the exhaust gas content on Otto's 4-Stroke engine and compared to each other.The research was conducted with variations in the hydrogen levels of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%.Data retrieval is done by supplying the exhaust gas that goes to the stargas analyzer.The results of research gained that the addition of hydrogen levels can accelerate the duration of combustion on the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).The increase in hydrogen levels by 10% of combustion occurs most perfectly compared with the addition of hydrogen levels by 5%, 10% and 20%.The amount of emissions on the addition of 10% hydrogen levels resulted in the highest CO2 emissions of 5.66% and resulted in the lowest CO and HC emissions of 0.11% and 56p. p.m.This is influenced by a comparison (water fuel ratio) of actual AFR from the addition of a 10% hydrogen level approaching theoretical AFR.The small difference between actual and theoretical AFR signifies that the mixture needed during the combustion process is appropriate.
