Abstract
Kabupaten Sidoarjo memiliki beberapa kawasan bersejarah utamanya pada koridor Jalan Gajah Mada. Kawasan koridor Jalan Gajah mada ini termasuk ke dalam kawasan perdagangan dan jasa dimana jalan koridor ini termasuk jalan arteri dengan jarak ± 1 km. Kawasan komersial harus mempunyai daya tarik tempat/ruang dikawasan koridor tersebut. Daya tarik tersebut ditinjau dari karakter visual streetscape di koridor Jalan Gajah Mada. Karakter visual streetscape sangat penting bagi wajah kota dan akan selalu diingat oleh masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Metode Deskriptif Kuantitatif. Penelitian deskriptif ini digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan arakteristik koridor Jalan Gajah Mada sesuai teori dan elemen-elemen koridor jalan. Metode kuantitatif digunakan untuk mengetahui karakter visual streetscape dikawasan komerial Jalan gajah mada sidoarjo. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu survei dan obervasi di kawasan komersial jalan gajah mada sidoarjo dengan sampel 100 masyarakat. Alat instrumen data menggunakan kuisioner 7 skala likert dengan total 35 variabel. Variabel yang diteliti adalah variabel bebas dan terikat dimana variabel bebas pada penelitian ini adalah elemen-elemen streetscape koridor jalan yaitu trotoar, perabot jalan, vegetasi, persimpangan, sudut jalan, parkir, signage dan fasad bangunan. Sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah karakter visual streetscape secara keseluruhan pada koridor jalan gajah mada sidoarjo. Analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis mean score, analisis faktor dan analisis regresi. Tujuan dan manfaat pada penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakter visual streetscape dijalan Gajah Mada Sidoarjo. Selain itu juga sebagai saran dan masukan kepada pemerintah kota dalam mengembangkan dan merancang koridor jalan gajah mada sidoarjo dalam meningkatkan karakter dan citra kawasan. Semakin meningkatnya karakter visual disebuah kawasan juga akan meningkatkan preferensi masyarakat terhadap kawasan komersial jalan gajah mada sidaorjo. Pada hasil dan pembahasan karakter visual streetscape di koridor Jalan Gajah Mada Sidoarjo dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif yang diperoleh adalah hasil karakter visual streetscape bervariasi mulai dari yang berkarakter negatif hingga yang berpotensi menciptakan karakter kuat. Elemen streetscape yang berpotensi membentuk karakter visual pada kawasan ini yaitu pada vegetasi, street furniture pada desain penerangan, persimpangan, parkir dan fasad bangunan. Berikut merupakan penjelasan elemen streetscape yang berpotensi menciptakan karakter visual koridor Jalan Gajah Mada Sidoarjo. 1. Vegetasi dengan jenis tabebuia yang mempunyai warna menarik kuning dan hijau serta bentuk tajuk yang menarik sehingga berpotensi menciptakan karakter visual pada kawasan ini. 2. Pada desain penerangan di kawasan ini yaitu menggunakan desain lampu penerangan jalan raya yang dikombinasikan jadi satu dengan lampu pejalan kaki. Desain lampu lengan tunggal pada lampu penerangan jalan raya dan desain lampu berganda pada penerangan pejalan kaki. Penataan penerangan menciptakan keteraturan dan kontinuitas visual. 3. Persimpangan dikawasan ini menggunakan penyeberangan pelikan dimana terdapat marka dan lampu lalu lintas disetiap persimpangan sehingga berpotensi menciptakan keseragaman visual. 4. Parkir menggunakan on street dan off street dengan pola 45º pada mobil dan tegak lurus pada sepeda motor berpotensi menciptakan keteraturan visual. 5. Fasad bangunan pada kawasan ini yaitu fasad dengan gaya arsitektur kolonial dan bergaya arsitektur komersial. Gaya arsitektur pada fasad bangunan disepanjang koridor berpotensi menciptakan karakter visual.
English Abstract
Sidoarjo Regency has several historical areas mainly on the Gajah Mada street corridor. The Gajah Mada street corridor area is included in the trade and service areas where the corridor road includes arterial roads with a distance of ± 1 km. Commercial areas must have an attraction in the area of the corridor. This attraction is viewed from the visual character of the streetscape on Gajah Mada street corridor. The streetscape visual character is very important for the face of the city and will always be remembered by the community. The method used in this study is Quantitative Descriptive Method. This descriptive study was used to describe the characteristics of the Jalan Gajah Mada corridor according to the theory and elements of the street corridor. The quantitative method is used to determine the visual character of the streetscape of Gajah Mada Sidoarjo street commercial. Data collection carried out in this study is survey and observation in the commercial area of Gajah Sidoarjo street coridor with a sample of 100 people. The data instrument uses a Likert Scale 7 questionnaire with a total of 35 variables. The variables studied are independent and dependent variables where the independent variables in this study are the streetscape elements of the street corridor, namely sidewalks, street furniture, vegetation, crosswalk, street corners, parking, signage and building facades. While the dependent variable is the overall streetscape visual character in the Gajah Mada Sidoarjo street coridor. The analysis used in this study is descriptive analysis, mean score analysis, factor analysis and regression analysis. The purpose and benefits of this study were to find out the visual characters of the streetscape on Gajah Mada in Sidoarjo. Besides that, it is also a suggestion and input to the city government in developing and designing Gajah Mada Sidoarjo street coridor in improving the character and image of the region. The increasing visual character in an area will also increase people's preference for the Gajah Mada Sidaorjo commercial area. The results and discussion of the visual character of the streetscape in Gajah Mada Sidoarjo street corridor using the descriptive quantitative method obtained are the results of the streetscape visual characters varying from those with negative characteristics to those that have the potential to create strong characters. The streetscape element has the potential to shape the visual character of this area, namely vegetation, street furniture in lighting designs, crosswalk, parking pattern and building facades. The following is an explanation of the streetscape elements that have the potential to create the visual character of the Jalan Gajah Mada Sidoarjo corridor. 1. Vegetation with tabebuia species that have attractive yellow and green colors and attractive canopy forms that have the potential to create visual characters in this region. 2. In lighting design in this area, it uses the design of highway lighting combined with pedestrian lights. Design single arm lights on highway lighting and double lamp designs on pedestrian lighting. Lighting arrangement creates visual order and continuity. 3. The crosswalk in this area uses pelican crossings where there are traffic lights and markers on each intersection so that it has the potential to create visual uniformity. 4. Parking using on street and off street with a 45º pattern on the car and perpendicular to the motorcycle has the potential to create visual order. 5. The facade of the building in this area is a facade with a colonial architectural style and a commercial architectural style. Architectural style on building facades along the corridor has the potential to create visual characters.
