Abstract
Informasi merupakan suatu hal yang penting dan sangat diperlukan pemustaka dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya sesuai dengan jenjang pendidikan, bidang pekerjaan, serta minat dan kemampuan yang dimiliki. Adanya faktor dan pola kebutuhan pemustaka yang beragam akan menimbulkan perilaku pencarian informasi yang berbeda-beda hingga pemustaka memilih dan menetapkan informasi yang relevan untuk dimanfaatkan. Salah satu media pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi adalah iPusnas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan (1) pengaruh faktor kebutuhan pemustaka terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi secara parsial dalam pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas, (2) pengaruh pola kebutuhan pemustaka terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi secara parsial dalam pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas, serta (3) pengaruh faktor kebutuhan pemustaka dan pola kebutuhan pemustaka terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi secara simultan dalam pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian eksplanatori dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pengguna aktif iPusnas tahun 2016-2018 dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 206.798 orang dan diambil sampel sebanyak 100 responden. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial faktor kebutuhan pemustaka berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi dalam pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas dengan nilai sig. t sebesar (0,000) < (0,05) dan thitung > ttabel sebesar (4,218) > (1,984). Hal ini berarti pengguna iPusnas adalah orang-orang yang sadar akan kebutuhan informasi. Sementara pola kebutuhan pemustaka tidak berpengaruh signifikan secara parsial terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi dalam pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas dengan nilai sig. t sebesar (0,309) > (0,05) dan thitung < ttabel sebesar (1,023) < (1,984). Hal ini berarti relevansi kebutuhan pengguna dengan kebutuhan yang terdapat di iPusnas rendah. Selain itu, secara simultan faktor dan pola kebutuhan pemustaka berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku pencarian informasi dalam pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas dengan nilai sig. F sebesar (0,000) < (0,05) dan Fhitung > Ftabel sebesar (15,693) > (3,09). Namun, kekuatan hubungan serta besaran kontribusi pengaruh antara ketiga variabel tersebut terbilang cukup dan kecil, yaitu 0,494 dengan 24,4%. Hal ini berarti untuk mencapai perilaku pencarian informasi yang tinggi, maka harus didukung dengan sumbangsih faktor dan pola kebutuhan pemustaka yang tinggi pula agar pemanfaatan koleksi iPusnas dapat berjalan optimal.
English Abstract
Information is an important matter and is very much needed by the user in fulfilling their information needs in accordance with the level of education, occupation, interests, and abilities possessed. The existence of various factor and pattern of user needs will lead to different information searching behavior until the user chooses and determines relevant information to be utilized. One of the media to fulfill information needs is iPusnas. This study aims to explain (1) the influence of factor of user needs partially to information searching behavior in utilizing the iPusnas collection, (2) the influence of pattern of user needs partially to information searching behavior in utilizing the iPusnas collection, and (3) the influence of factor and pattern of user needs simultaneously to information searching behavior in utilizing the iPusnas collection. This type of research uses explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were active users of iPusnas in 2016-2018 with a population of 206,798 people and a sample of 100 respondents was taken. Data collection methods used in this study were questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the research and discussion shows that partially the factor of user needs have a significant effect to information searching behavior in utilizing the iPusnas collection with the sig value. t is (0,000) < (0,05) and tcount > ttable is (4,218) > (1,984). This means that iPusnas users are people who are aware of information needs. While the pattern of user needs does not have a significant effect partially to information searching behavior in utilizing the iPusnas collection with the sig value. t is (0,309) > (0,05) and tcount < ttable is (1,023) < (1,984). This means that the relevance of user needs to the needs found in iPusnas are low. In addition, simultaneously the factor and pattern of user needs have a significant effect to information searching behavior in utilizing the iPusnas collection with sig value. F is (0,000) < (0,05) and Fcount > Ftable (15,693) > (3,09). However, the strength of the relationship and the magnitude of the contribution of the influence between the three variables are fairly and small, which is 0,494 with 24,4%. This means that to achieve high information searching behavior, it must be supported by contributing of factor and pattern of user needs highelly too so that the utilization of the iPusnas collection can run optimally.
