Abstract
Yellow Vest Movement adalah sebuah gerakan populis di Perancis yang memprotes kebijakan yang dikeluarkan oleh Presiden Perancis, Emmanuel Macron. Dimulai dari sebuah petisi di change.org yang kemudian viral di platform Facebook dan media sosial lain sehingga gerakan ini mendapatkan simpati dari berbagai negara, termasuk negara tetangga Perancis yaitu Belanda dan Belgia, kemudian beberapa negara lain yang letaknya jauh dari Perancis seperti Israel, Mesir, hingga Taiwan. Gerakan Yellow Vest mengalami transnasionalisasi ide, dimana kesamaan ide untuk melawan ketidakdilan, menaikkan taraf hidup terutama taraf hidup masyarakat kecil menjadi landasan utama dari berubahnya gerakan yang berskala lokal atau nasional ini menjadi sebuah gerakan transnasional. Menggunakan konsep Transnational Contention yang ditulis oleh Sidney Tarrow, penulis hendak mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses transnasionalisasi gerakan ini, terdapat tiga level yaitu domestic, difusi, dan internasional (transnasional) dan lima proses yaitu domestikasi dan global framing, kemudian diffusion, dan terakhir adalah externalization dan transnational coalition forming.
English Abstract
Yellow Vest Movement is a populist movement in France that protests the policies issued by the French President, Emmanuel Macron. Starting from a petition on change.org which was then viral on the Facebook platform and other social media so that this movement gained sympathy from various countries, including neighboring countries, such as the Netherlands and Belgium, then several other countries far from France such as Israel, Egypt, all the way to Taiwan. The Yellow Vest movement experienced transnationalisation of ideas, where the similarity of ideas to fight against injustice, raising the standard of living, especially the standard of living of small communities became the main foundation of the change in the local or national scale movement into a transnational movement. Using the concept of Transnational Contention written by Sidney Tarrow, the author wants to describe how does the process of transnationalization works on this movement, there are three levels, namely domestic, diffusion, and international (transnational) and five processes namely domestication and global framing, then diffusion, and finally externalization and transnational coalition forming.
