Trait Self-Control Sebagai Moderator Pada Hubungan Antara Fear Of Missing Out Dan Aktivitas Fisik

Balqis, Audita Izza (2019) Trait Self-Control Sebagai Moderator Pada Hubungan Antara Fear Of Missing Out Dan Aktivitas Fisik. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

Pengukuran menggunakan self-report berupa Brief Self-control Scale (SCS), Fear of Missing Out Scales (FoMOS), dan Reported Adherence Scale for Physical Activity (SRAS-PA).

English Abstract

In the current technological era, physical activity is very low. While the human anatomical structure is inseparable from the element of motion. There is an ongoing shift in lifestyle. This study aims to determine whether the self-control trait as moderator in the relationship between Fear of Missing Out and physical activity. This research includes quantitative correlations using cloud-based online surveys. Participants were undergraduate students in Indonesia and Instagram users (N = 479, Mean = 21.24, SD = 1.311). Measurements use self-report in the form of Brief Self-control Scale (SCS), Fear of Missing Out Scales (FoMOS), and Reported Adherence Scale for Physical Activity (SRAS-PA). Data analysis was performed by moderating regression method, using PROCESS macro model 1. Results showed that (a) FoMO significantly negative correlated with physical activity (b) FoMO has a significantly positive correlation with the self-control trait (c) self-control trait does not correlate with physical activity (d) Low physical activity is predicted by high FoMO levels (e) the relationship between fear of missing and physical activity is not moderated by the self-control trait. Additional analysis shows that low physical activity in men is predicted by high FoMO levels. Whereas in women, low physical activity is predicted by high intensity of attachment to Instagram levels
