Abstract
Meksiko Merupakan negara dengan produksi sumber energi yang melimpah. Namun memasuki tahun 2000an produksi mereka semakin berkurang, namun tidak diiringi dengan konsumsi yang tetap meningkat. Akibatnya Meksiko mengalami kerentanan energi walaupun dengan status negara yang kaya akan sumber energi. Dalam upayanya mengatasi kerentanan, Meksiko melakukan Reformasi Energi pada akhir tahun 2013. Dalam reformasi ini mereka menghapus monopoli eksplorasi sumber energi di negaranya, sehingga membuka jalan bagi sektor swasta untuk ikut mengeksplorasi sumber energi di Meksiko. Dengan ikutnya perusahaan swasta diharapkan dapat menambah jumlah produksi dalam negerinya. Strategi Meksiko ini selanjutnya akan dipaparkan penulis melalui konsep Keamanan Energi oleh Mason Willrich. Metode penelitian adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskritif.
English Abstract
Mexico is a country with abundant energy production. But in the 2000s their production was decreasing, but it not accompanied by consumption which continued to increase. The result is Mexico experiencing energy vulnerability despite the status of a country that is rich in energy sources. In its efforts to overcome vulnerability, Mexico carried out Reforma Energetica at the end of 2013. In this reform they removed the monopoly on exploration of energy sources in their country, thus paving the way for the private sector to participate in exploring energy sources in Mexico. Furthermore, private companies are expected to be able to increase the amount of domestic production. This Mexican strategy will be presented by the author through the concept of Energy Security by Mason Willrich. The research method is qualitative with descriptive type of research.
