Abstract
Tingginya prevalensi obesitas di dunia pada dua dekade terakhir ternyata diikuti juga dengan peningkatan kejadian infeksi kronik. Obesitas dan infeksi kronik akan memicu reaksi inflamasi sehingga meningkatkan produksi sitokin proinflmasi salah satunya IL-12. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek paparan profilin Toxoplasma gondii terhadap kadar IL-12 pada tikus Rattus novergicus Strain Wistar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratorium dengan rancangan true eksperimental-post test only control group design. Hewan model dalam penelitian ini adalah tikus dibagi menjadi 13 kelompok perlakuan. Dari hasil penelitian, tidak ditemukan adanya korelasi baik antara dosis profilin dan berat badan sesudah perlakuan dengan kadar IL-12. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah paparan profilin T.gondii tidak memberikan efek signifikan pada peningkatan kadar IL-12 serta pengaruhnya dengan obesitas.
English Abstract
The high prevalence of obesity in the world in the last two decades was also followed by an increase in the incidence of chronic infections. Obesity and chronic infection will trigger an inflammatory reaction which increases the production of proinflammatory cytokine one of them IL-12. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Toxoplasma gondii profilin on IL-12 levels in Rattus novergicus Wistar Strain. This research is a laboratory experimental study with a true experimental design posttest only control group design. The model animals in this study were Wistar rats which were divided into 13 treatment groups. From the results of the study, no correlation was found, either between profilin dose and body weight after treatment with IL-12 levels. The conclusion of this study was that T.gondii profilin exposure did not have a significant effect on the increase in IL 12 levels and its effect on obesity.
