Dewantoro, Bhisma Alfathan (2018) Pengaruh Ekstrak Kulit Jeruk Lemon (Citrus Limon) terhadap Bakteri Escherichia coli secara In Vitro. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Escherichia coli is the major pathogen bacteria infection in outpatient or inpatient. Approximately 85% of the causes of UTI (urinary tract infection) and about 50% of nosocomial infections in the Community cause is Escherichia coli. Nosocomial infections are often caused by Escherichia coli as a catheter-associated urinary tract infections, and infections of bacterial Transmission operation scar is very simple, namely from the hands that touch food or water that has been contaminated and caused the presence of gene transfer. lemon (Citrus limon) is the one of many plant that got a lot of cultivation, like flavoring dishes, beauty or drug. Lemon (Citrus limon) is rich in natural compounds in the form of citric acid, askorbik acid, flavonoids, minerals and essential oils. This research aims to know the potential antimicrobial skin extract, lemon (Citrus limon) against Escherichia coli using sumuran diffusion method. The concentration of extract lemon skin used is 15%, 20%, 25% .30%, and 35% with four repetitions. Based on the result, obtained as a zone of inhibition is formed on all the test concentrations. The results of the test of one-way ANOVA showed no difference in effect meaning on the change of concentration of ethanol extract of lemon skin against the zone of inhibition of growth of bacteria Escherichia coli (p < 0.05). Spearman correlation test showed a relationship between the giving of the extract with the diameter of the zones of drag. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the extract of lemon skin has potential as an antimicrobial against Escherichia coli bacteria
