Abstract

Nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan nyamuk Culex sp. merupakan vektor dari beberapa penyakit seperti demam berdarah dengue, demam kuning (yellow fever) dan chikungunya, sedangkan filariasis limfatik, Japanese B Encephalitis, West Nile Virus, dan St. Louis Encephalitis dikarenakan nyamuk Culex sp. Tujuan penelitian membandingkan potensi ekstrak etanol umbi gadung sebagai insektisida terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan nyamuk Culex sp. dengan metode semprot. Ekstrak etanol umbi gadung karena mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin, asam sianida dan alkaloid. Flavonoid menyebabkan kelayuan pada saraf pernapasan yang menyebabkan nyamuk tidak bisa bernafasnya. Alkaloid menyebabkan nyamuk mati oleh karena racun perut dan penghambatan ezim asetilkolinestrase. system saraf. Asam sianida (HCN) menyebabkan kematian pada nyamuk oleh karena memiliki efek hemolysis dan efek paralisis pada susunan saraf. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan baik pada pengamatan 30 menit, 60 menit, 90 menit, 120 menit, 150 menit dan 180 menit potensi ekstrak etanol umbi gadung sebagai insektisida terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan nyamuk Culex sp. tidak berbeda secara bermakna (nilai p value > nilai 0.05). Kesimpulan ekstrak etanol umbi gadung mempunyai potensi sebagai insektisida terhadap nyamuk Aedes aegypti dan nyamuk Culex sp. tetapi tidak mempunyai beda secara bermakna.

English Abstract

Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and Culex sp. is a vector of several diseases such as dengue hemorrhagic fever, yellow fever (yellow fever) and chikungunya, while lymphatic filariasis, Japanese B Encephalitis, West Nile Virus, and St. Louis Encephalitis due to mosquito Culex sp. The objectives of the study were to compare the potency of ethanol extract of gadung tuber as insecticide to Aedes aegypti mosquito and Culex sp. by spray method. Ethanol extract of gadung bulb because it contains flavonoid compound, saponin, cyanide acid and alkaloids. Flavonoids cause withered on respiratory nerves that cause mosquitoes can not breathe. Alkaloids cause mosquitoes to die because of stomach toxins and inhibition of acetylcholinestrase. the nervous system. Cyanide acid (HCN) causes death in mosquitoes because it has a hemolysis effect and paralysis effects on the nervous system. The results showed good observation of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes, 150 minutes and 180 minutes potency potency extract of gadung tuber as an insecticide against Aedes aegypti mosquitoes and Culex sp. did not differ significantly (p value> value 0.05). Conclusion of extract of potato bulb ethanol have potency as insecticide to Aedes aegypti mosquito and Culex sp mosquito. but not significantly different.
