Abstract
Resin akrilik merupakan suatu polimer yang memiliki peran penting dalam pembuatan gigi tiruan lepasan. Jenis resin akrilik yang banyak dipakai dalam pembuatan gigi tiruan lepasan adalah akrilik heat cured. Kelopak bunga Rosela (Hibiscus sabdariffa) memiliki kandungan bahan aktif, antara lain flavonoid, fenol atau polifenol, asam sitrat, saponin, tannin, dan anti oksidan. Kandungan flavonoid dan fenol memiliki fungsi dalam menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme sehingga larutan bunga Rosela dapat menjadi alternatif pembersih gigi tiruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama perendaman resin akrilik heat cured dalam larutan bunga Rosela terhadap stabilitas warna. Dua puluh empat lempeng akilik dibagi dalam tiga kelompok kontrol dan tiga kelompok perlakuan yaitu direndam dalam gelas beaker yang berisi akuades dan larutan bunga Rosela selama 3, 6 dan 8 hari. Pembacaan data perubahan warna akrilik menggunakan color reader CR10. Hasil data uji oneway ANOVA terdapat perubahan warna bermakna pada kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan (p<0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah perendaman lempeng akrilik heat cured dalam larutan bunga Rosela berpengaruh terhadap perubahan warnanya.
English Abstract
Acrylic resin is a polymer that has an important role in making removable dentures. The type of acrylic resin that is widely used in the fabrication of removable dentures is heat cured acrylic. Rosella flower’s petal (Hibiscus sabdariffa) contain active ingredients, including flavonoids, phenols or polyphenols, citric acid, saponins, tannins, and anti-oxidants. The content of flavonoids and phenols has a function in inhibiting the growth of microorganisms so that rosella flower solution can be an alternative as a denture cleaning. This study aims to determine the effect of heat cured acrylic resin immersion in the rosella flower solution of the color stability. Twenty four acrylic plates were divided into three control groups and three treatment groups that was soaked in a beaker glass which containing the aquadest and rosella flowers solution for 3, 6 and 8 days. Reading of acrylic discoloration data is read using the CR10 color reader. The results of the oneway ANOVA test have significant color changes in the control and treatment groups (p<0,05). The conclusion of this study is the immersion of heat cured acrylic plates in a solution of rosella flower affects the color changes.
