Abstract
Ekstraksi gigi menyebabkan luka dan perlu perawatan untuk mengembalikan fungsi kunyah, estetik, fungsi bicara, dan mencegah terjadinya kerusakan jaringan rongga mulut. Osteoklas berperan penting pada proses penyembuhan tulang khususnya pada fase remodelling untuk meresorbsi tulang saat awal pembentukan tulang baru. Kulit buah jeruk nipis mengandung banyak senyawa aktif diantaranya adalah flavonoid, vitamin c dan tanin yang bersifat antibakteri, antiinflamasi dan antioksidan sehingga mampu mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka pada soket gigi pasca ekstraksi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek pemberian rebusan kulit jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) terhadap jumlah osteoklas alveol pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) strain wistar pasca ekstraksi gigi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan eksperimental laboratoris secara in vivo. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Randomized Post-Test Only Control Group Design. Hewan coba dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol yang tidak diberi rebusan kulit jeruk nipis (K1, K2, K3) dan kelompok perlakuan yang diberi rebusan kulit jeruk nipis (P1, P2, P3), masing-masing didekaputasi pada hari ke-7, 14, 21 dan dibuat sediaan preparat histologi jaringan untuk menghitung jumlah osteoklas. Analisis data menggunakan One-Way Anova menunjukkan perbedaan yang tidak signifikan antara kelompok K1 dan kelompok P1, kelompok K3 dan P3 serta menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok K2 dan kelompok P2. Uji korelasi Pearson menunjukkan adanya hubungan kuat dengan arah negatif yang berarti semakin lama waktu pemberian rebusan maka jumlah osteoklas semakin menurun. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa rebusan kulit jeruk nipis (Citrus aurantifolia) memengaruhi jumlah osteoklas alveol pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus) strain Wistar pasca ekstraksi gigi.
English Abstract
Tooth extraction can damage oral tissue so that we need treatment to restore chewing, aesthetics, speech function, and prevent mouth tissue damage. Osteoclasts play an important role in bone healing, especially in the remodeling phase of bone resorbtion at the start of new bone formation. Lime peel contains many active compounds such as flavonoids, vitamin C and tannins that are antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidants that can accelerate the wound healing process in post-extraction of tooth sockets. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lime peel decoction (Citrus aurantifolia) on the amount of osteoclast alveoli in white rat (Rattus norvegicus) strains wistar after tooth extraction. This research was conducted with laboratory experimental approach in vivo. The design of the research used is the Random Post-Test Randomized Control Group Design. The animals were divided into 6 groups, they are the nonboiled control group with lime peel decoction (K1, K2, K3) and the lime peel decoction treatment group (P1, P2, P3), were decaputed on the 7th, 14th, 21st day and make tissue histology preparations to calculate the number of osteoclasts. Analysis of data using One-Way ANOVA showed no significant difference between group K1 and group P1, group of K3 and P3 and showed significant difference between group K2 and group P2. Pearson correlation test showed a strong relationship with the negative direction which means the longer the decoction time the number of osteoclasts decreases. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the lime peel decoction (Citrus aurantifolia) affects the amount of osteoclast alveol in white rats (Rattus norvegicus) of Wistar strains after tooth extraction.
