Abstract

English Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is still a health problem in Indonesia including Malang City. Aedes aegypti mosquito is the main vector of this disease. The most effective action for prevention of dengue is to break the chain of transmission by carrying out the eradication of mosquito nests. It will run well if the community participates actively, as well as health volunteers who have several important jobs. The existence of Aedes aegypti larvae is an indicator of the presence of these mosquito populations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of DHF prevention behavior with the presence of Aedes aegypti larvae among health volunteers in Malang City. This study uses an analytic observational design with a cross sectional approach in 400 respondents. Data were analyzed by chi square test. The results showed that health volunteers who behaved poorly in their homes were not found larvae (p value = 0.500). It can be concluded that there is no correlation between DHF prevention behavior with the presence of larvae in cadres in Malang City
