Abstract
Karies atau gigi berlubang merupakan penyakit rongga mulut dan dapat memicu rasa sakit. Rasa sakit ini secara tidak langsung dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup seseorang. Perawatan yang diharapkan dapat mencegah rasa sakit agar kualitas hidup seseorang tidak terganggu adalah dengan cara penumpatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan seberapa besar hubungan motivasi penumpatan gigi berlubang dengan kualitas hidup siswa SD Katolik St. Maria 2. Penelitian ini memiliki rancangan penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan penelitian cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik non-probability dengan teknik purposive sampling. Motivasi penumpatan diukur dengan menggunakan indeks PTI, sedangkan kualitas hidup diukur dengan menggunakan kuesioner OHIP-14. Analisis data menggunakan uji Pearson dan uji Spearman menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara motivasi penumpatan gigi berlubang dengan kualitas hidup. Faktor yang mungkin mempengaruhi hasil penelitian tersebut adalah kemungkinan biasnya pengisian kuesioner, jumlah sampel yang sedikit, rendahnya indeks DMF-T dan PUFA, serta kualitas hidup siswa tidak haya dipengaruhi oleh kesehatan giginya namun juga dipengaruhi oleh sosial ekonomi, pendidikan, serta lingkungan dan budaya dari siswa. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini tidak terdapat hubungan antara motivasi penumpatan gigi berlubang dengan kualitas hidup siswa SD Katolik St. Maria 2 Malang.
English Abstract
Caries or cavities are a oral health problem that may cause pain. Pain, the side effects of caries, can affect the quality of life. A treatment that can prevent the pain, so it can not affect the quality of life is by filling. This study aims to prove how much the correlation between dental caries filling motivation with the quality of life of Catholic elementary school students St. Maria 2 Malang. This study has an observational analytic study design with a cross sectional research approach. Sampling uses non-probability techniques with purposive sampling technique. Motivation of overthrow was measured using the PTI index, while quality of life was measured using the OHIP-14 questionnaire. Data analysis with Pearson correlation test and the Spearman correlation show there were no correlation betweet filling motivation and quality of life. Many factors that may affect the result of the study, they are the possibility of failures in questionnaires answers, small number of samples, the low index of DMF-T and PUFA, and quality of life is not only determined by the oral health, but also the socio-economic, educational, and environmental and cultural aspects of students. The conclusion of this study is that there is no correlation between motivation of cavities with the quality of life of Catholic St. elementary school students. Maria 2 Malang significantly.
