Abstract

SaImoneIIa Typhi adaIah bakteri gram negatif dengan famiIi enterobacteriacea yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit demam tifoid. Sekitar 21 juta kasus dan 222.000 kematian terkait demam tifoid terjadi setiap tahun di seIuruh dunia, Setiap tahun terjadi peningkatan angka kejadian demam tifoid di Indonesia. Infeksi SaImoneIIa Typhi terjadi secara fecaI-oraI meIaIui makanan dan minuman yang terkontaminasi. Saat ini, antibiotik Iini pertama SaImoneIIa Typhi teIah diIaporkan resisten, sehingga diperIukan pembaharuan daIam antibiotik SaImoneIIa Typhi. Beringin (Ficus benjamina) adaIah saIah satu tumbuhan yang teIah banyak dimanfaatkan untuk obat-obatan, haI ini dikarenakan akar gantung beringin mengandung beberapa senyawa kimia diantaranya saponin, poIifenoI dan fIavonoid. Tujuan dari peneIitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui efek antibakteri ekstrak etanoI akar gantung beringin terhadap bakteri SaImoneIIa Typhi secara in vitro menggunakan metode difusi sumuran. Penggunakan metode difusi sumuran untuk mendapatkan diameter zona hambat pertumbuhan SaImoneIIa Typhi dengan cara mengukur zona hambat sumur menggunakan jangka sorong. Setiap perIakuan di cawan petri diIakukan penguIangan sebanyak 4 kaIi. Konsentrasi yang digunakan adaIah 0%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, dan 100%. AnaIisa data yang digunakan adaIah KruskaI-WaIIis untuk menunjukkan adaIanya perbedaan signifikan pada setiap perubahan konsentrasi ekstrak akar gantung beringin terhadap zona hambat pertumbuhan bakteri SaImoneIIa Typhi (p<0,05). Uji koreIasi Spearman menunjukkan adanya hubungan sangat kuat dengan arah positif. HaI ini membuktikan bahwa kenaikan konsentrasi ekstrak sejaIan dengan efektivitas ekstrak sebagai antibakteri. Berdasarkan peneIitian ini, dapat disimpuIkan bahwa ekstrak etanoI akar gantung beringin (Ficus benjamina) mempunyai efek sebagai antibakteri terhadap bakteri SaImoneIIa Typhi secara in vitro dengan metode difusi sumuran.

English Abstract

SaImoneIIa Typhi is a gram-negative bacterium with enterobacteriacea famiIy that can cause typhoid fever. Approximately 21 million cases and 222,000 deaths associated with typhoid fever occur annually worldwide, Every year there is an increase in the incidence of typhoid fever in Indonesia. SaImoneIIa Typhi infection occurs in the fecaI-oraI way through the contaminated food and drink. Currently, the first antibiotic Iini SaImoneIIa Typhi has been reported to be resistant, so there is renewal in the antibiotic SaImoneIIa Typhi. Beringin (Ficus benjamina) is one plant that has been widely used for medicines, this is because the root of the banyan tree contains several chemical compounds such as saponins, poififorms and folloids. The purpose of this research is to know the antibacterial effect of ethanolic extract of root of banyan tree to bacteria SaImoneIIa Typhi in vitro using diffusion method of pitting. Using a well diffusion method to obtain the inhibitory zone diameter of SaImoneIIa Typhi by measuring the well drag zone using a sliding range. Each period in the Petri dish is filled with 4 kiIi. The concentrations used are 0%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%. The data used were KruskaI-WaIIis to indicate that there was a significant difference in each change in the concentration of root extract of the banyan pendant on the bacterial growth zone of SaImoneIIa Typhi (p <0,05). Spearman's koreiasi test shows a very strong relationship with a positive direction. This HaI proves that the increase of extract concentration sejaIan with the effectiveness of extract as antibacterial. Based on this research, it can be concluded that the banyan root ethanolic extract (Ficus benjamina) has an antibacterial effect on the bacteria SaImoneIIa Typhi in vitro by the diffusion method of wells.
